It is making me question whether I'm holding this author to an unfair standard because her debut was one of my favourite books of recent years.

@jon_cronshaw Larger font. I love paperbacks, but the horribly small font in some fantasy novels is a real turnoff. I'm convinced this is a fantasy, rather than all genre, issue.

@ceager4life Good shout! Although, slight issue is the author's debut was uber successful, so not sure I'd get away with the 'potential' point. It's one of those weird books where it's brilliant, really brilliant, but a few niggly issues that detract from how good it is.
