@PrimServices please ask your drivers in Sanger, Texas to NOT run red lights. Especially in the company truck. I assume you don’t want a lawsuit. 0900, 8/18/25, 455 and I-35
@DENTONPD maybe you guys can go make people move off of Riney Rd by the new tennis center. There are about 20 cars parked illegally and I am hoping you weren’t told to NOT ticket them since it is the Grand Opening.
@TxDOT was THIS Friday the best day to run the street sweepers on southbound I35E? Possibly the busiest Friday of the year and you shut down a lane to sweep? Nice

While everyone is distracted with other political drama, the Biden Administration has proposed two new regulations that will seriously affect your life… and not in a good way.
THREAD:
1) Back in April, Biden’s EPA proposed the strictest tailpipe emissions standards in history. These standards are intentionally designed to force new vehicle sales be 67% electric vehicles (EVs). Currently EVs make up only 5% of new car sales. That’s a massive change.
2) And recently, the Department of Transportation proposed another new fuel efficiency standard that would require cars to meet a 66 mile per gallon standard, and light trucks to reach 54 miles per gallon — all by 2032.
It’s clear that this administration’s goal is to push the internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle out of existence and force the mass adoption of EVs. They don’t even deny it. This will mean higher prices for American drivers, for sure. These EVs cost on average $20,000 more than a similarly sized ICE vehicle, and their prices have continued to increase in recent years. Plus, their range is on average 160 miles less than traditional vehicles. Not good for American consumers.
But will it even help the environment? Not really. Keep reading….
As it turns out, the manufacturing process of EVs offsets much of the supposed climate “benefit.” According to the manufacturers themselves, these EVs need to drive almost 70,000 miles before their emissions even break even with ICE vehicles. This is because the manufacturing of batteries is so energy intensive.
On top of that, there is serious environmental destruction caused by the mining and refining of the critical materials needed to mass produce these EVs. Building a single EV battery requires the mining and processing of more than 500,000 pounds of earth because of all the rare earth minerals needed.
Bottom line: A simple cost/benefit analysis shows how crazy these new regulations are. Lots of cost, with very little benefit, if any. Consumers should be free to purchase EVs if they want to. But our government has no place in mandating what kind of vehicles the American consumer can and cannot buy in the future.
The hug that saved a life In 1995, the twins, Kyrie and Brielle Jackson, were born 12 weeks premature, each weighing only about 2 pounds. They were placed in separate incubators. One twin was not expected to survive. She went into critical condition. Her heart rate was rising while her oxygen level was dropping significantly. They were about to lose her. It was then that one nurse, Gale Kasparian, went against the hospital rules and standard procedure, putting the healthy twin next to her struggling sister in the same incubator. This decision turned out to be life-saving. Once the twins were close to each other, the struggling sister (Brielle) snuggled up to the healthy sister (Kyrie) who put her arms around Brielle. Almost immediately after, Brielle's vital signs started stabilizing. Her heart rate and oxygen levels normalized. Both twin sisters eventually survived and grew into strong young women. The picture below came to be known as the rescuing hug and would change a part of our understanding of medicine.
Hugging that is coming from the heart is proven to have calming and healing effects. Maybe there is someone in your life that can use a warm and heartfelt hug right now.
