Dying While You’re Still Alive: How to Create a Better Life
I’ve spent much of my life chasing versions of success that felt just out of reach—better job, more money, deeper relationships, greater peace. At almost 39, I’m beginning to understand that the chase itself may be the problem. The harder I run after a “better” reality, the more it slips away. What if, instead of pursuing life, I started creating it?
✍🏾
There’s a concept that keeps surfacing in both ancient wisdom and modern science: alignment. When your thoughts, emotions, and actions vibrate at the same frequency, something shifts. In quantum terms, this is called coherence—when the heart and mind send out a clear, unified electromagnetic signal. The universe, it seems, doesn’t respond to our wishes nearly as powerfully as it responds to who we are being in each moment.
✍🏾
Becoming the best version of yourself, then, isn’t about adding more—more achievements, more discipline, more positivity. It’s about subtraction. It’s a kind of death while still alive: letting go of the old stories, the limiting identities, the habitual reactions that have defined you for decades. You have to become no one for a while—empty, quiet, unburdened—so that something truer can emerge. You lose the old mind to make space for a new one.
✍🏾
In practice, this is both simpler and harder than it sounds.
✍🏾
It starts with fierce intention. Not vague hope, but a daily decision about who you choose to be today. You wake up and, before the world rushes in, you anchor yourself in gratitude—not as a chore, but as a reminder that you already have enough to begin. Then you step into the day with curiosity, like an adventurer entering unfamiliar territory, yet with deep focus on the energy you want to embody: calm, kind, purposeful, open.
✍🏾
Your habits become your rehearsal. Every small choice—how you speak to yourself when things go wrong, what you consume (food, media, conversations), how you protect your time and attention—is a vote for the person you’re becoming. New habits aren’t just about productivity; they’re about identity construction. You don’t rise to the level of your goals—you fall to the level of your systems, and those systems shape who you are at your core.
✍🏾
Most importantly, protect your energy. Be ruthlessly selective about your environment, your influences, your inner dialogue. Because when your heart and mind are coherent, you’re broadcasting a signal. The universe isn’t judging your words or your vision boards—it’s responding to the frequency of your being. Align that frequency with the version of yourself you most want to meet, and life stops feeling like something you chase.
It starts feeling like something you create.

I am deeply grateful to the Malawi Nation newspaper for amplifying the launch of the Caroline Kautsire Scholarship Program. This initiative is a heartfelt commitment to empowering Malawi’s youth by ensuring access to education without the weight of financial barriers. By working hand-in-hand with the government’s manifesto on education, we aim to target areas of greatest need, creating opportunities for students to thrive.

A special thanks goes to my incredible team and every generous donor whose support has brought this vision to life. Together, we embody the spirit of Ubuntu—I am because we are. Let’s continue to uplift and invest in the future of Malawi’s students. 🇲🇼
Meet the Team: Mr. Ben Kautsire & Mr. Wonderful Mkhutche
On October 20th, 2025, the Caroline Kautsire Scholarship was launched at Blantyre Secondary School, a moment that filled my heart with both pride and purpose. Leading this initiative as founder and president, I am joined by an incredible team: Wonderful Mkhutche, our dedicated vice president, and my father, Ben Kautsire, who serves as treasurer. My father’s involvement feels deeply personal, as this scholarship honors the legacy of my late mother, Lillian Kautsire. A proud alumna of BSS, she was a brilliant scholar who cherished education and consistently topped her class. Her passion for learning and my parents’ shared lessons on the power of giving have inspired every step of this journey.

The launch was graced by our esteemed guest of honor, Yankho Seunda, and amplified by the presence of media representatives Sam Banda Jr. from the Daily Times and Patricia Fiwa from The Nation. Their coverage has helped spread the word across Malawi, and for that, I am immensely grateful. These scholarships are more than awards; they are a call to action, a hope that my efforts will inspire others to create their own pathways to giving and uplifting our nation. The journey continues on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, as we bring this celebration to Lilongwe Girls Secondary School. Stay tuned, Malawi, as we work together to build a brighter future.
Love & Light,
Prof. CK
