@Martina Yes, one of the women that had issues with Platner is a former GOP operative. But two others were Democrats, including one that worked on his campaign. Tell me again how we’re supposed to believe all women, please.
@bunyan2020@MaineLogic I know, and I have my issues with Collins… But she’s a better choice than a misogynistic Nazi, who has a sexual fetish for porta potties.
@CourtneyMeehan3@freedomhousebb Northern Maine has always been more red than the southern part. So this isn’t surprising. What is surprising, is I’m seeing Platner signs vanish all over heavily liberal Portland.
@Weerdington@MaineLogic Part of it is logistics. Generally, polling places are more spread out & less accessible than ones in cities. This is a major reason why liberals do as well as they do. It’ll take a great candidate to overcome that. It’s not impossible, but it’s difficult.
@MaineLogic Collins has already said this is her last run, she’s retiring after this term, should she win. For a “real conservative” to win, the rural voters have to get to the polls. I’m not sure they want to bother. Their apathy is the reason the state is purple.
@LolaMMaine@207_Builder I was just gonna say that. When we do make the news, which isn’t often, it’s usually for all the wrong reasons. It’s because we have dumb people doing stupid things… & we have awful political leaders to boot.
@Billybobwalter1@irishteo I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a campaign so fully implode before. At this point, the jokes and memes are writing themselves. Sure, it’s funny. But it’s also sad that this is the best candidate the Democrats could find.
@SisterAbigail11@WMTWTV You won’t get any argument from me on that score. On an unrelated note, I need to do a better job of proofreading my post before I hit the sent button. Yikes. Lol.
@SisterAbigail11@WMTWTV Susan Collins is gonna be laughing all the way to the bank. It seems every day we turning around, he’s apologizing for a new scandal. 🤣
@ellabrown1962@WMTWTV The Dems aren’t necessarily stuck with Platner. Janet Mills‘s name is still on the ballot for the primary. You would’ve thought that they might’ve come up with a better candidate than him, however.
@LauraLoomer@NRSmaine She reminds me of a lightweight version of Hillary - She’s sticking by her man in an effort to attain fame and fortune. Hillary rode her husband‘s coattails into a successful political career, despite Bill’s affair w/ Lewinsky. In both cases, the hubby was the wife’s meal ticket.
@207_Builder@PollTracker2024 She wants to be another Hillary Clinton. She’s trying to ride her husband’s cocktails to fame and fortune.… No matter what it takes.
@ViolaLeighBlues@shipwreckedcrew I agree with you, but I’m reminded of a quote from Joseph Stalin: “it doesn’t matter who votes, it matters who counts the votes.“ Guess who gets to count the votes? 😳
@207_Builder That would be tragic. My initial thought was that it would be almost as tragic to take some of his campaign signs and stick them on porta potties all over the state. But this works too. 🤣
