@JeneeTibshraeny Is it a gross trade vs. net trade thing? I can imagine NZ is less connected to global manufacturing value chains. i.e. we don't see much churn with NZ importing and exporting a higher %age of final goods. But that's just a guess.

@Lobsterpillar1 @StuartBDonovan I know right? Walking and cycling is typically better. But tube travel, especially with a change — I’ll add 5-10mins to safely get there on time.
@MedBonnevie How does this type of result fit into the results we’re seeing from high volume LT training programs (Norwegian model). Is it simply saying that when doing V02 work, shorter intervals are better? Ie it’s not commenting on what workout mixes optimise a program over the long term?
Broadening NZ's tax base with CG, centralized land taxes, inheritance tax, or some mixture must be a core part of NZ improving both (i) intergenerational equity (fairness across generations), and (ii) intergenerational mobility (meritocracy, or fairness within generations).

Really enjoyed @ODI_Global's "Navigating the Poly-Crisis: 2023 ODI Public Finance" Conference
Highlight: @AndresVelasco skillfully getting a crowd of PFM experts+Tsy officials on side with wisdom-infused zingers such as: “Only the Treasury can internalize all the externalities”.
@florianederer Long-distance swimming gets quite close. Katie Ledecky's 1500m world record would have put her within the top 20 men racing at the Tokyo Olympics.
@Economissive It’s the broader rhetoric and implied derision of data and experts I find concerning. Everyone loves a good data bashing when it suits them, but each time it chips away at public’s trust in institutions.
