My son is autistic & he loves dinosaurs. We were watching a documentary about dinosaurs when the narrator said that the dinosaur name Maiasaura means “good mother.” My son turned to me & said “like you!” These moments make it all worth it🥲

My son had his face painted today. I was so surprised when he asked to have it done as he doesn’t usually like anything on his skin! We ran over, had the face painted & then removed with a wipe in the same sitting. Very proud of him for trying! 🥰 #Autism

A person on the check out saw my son holding a dinosaur toy & tried to play with him saying “ahh will it eat me!?” & he just looked at her, with the straightest, most confused face ever, and said “no, it’s a herbivore” 😂 #Autism

This can't be right, we really are failing our children when we can not provide the correct provision where they can learn in an environment that can accept & fully support their needs We must start by LISTENING to our students whose voices are relevant
