MUFC Account Restrictions: Key Observations, Legal Flaws, and Tactical Advice
Over the last few days, I have reviewed numerous rejection emails sent to supporters regarding account restrictions. Having analysed these responses, here are my key observations and practical advice on how to fight back.
Firstly, based on a detailed analysis of an email I was forwarded, it is extremely likely that this response was generated using AI (or heavily drafted using an AI template) and then possibly reviewed by a legal or compliance officer.
1. Document the Rushed Responses ("Procedural Unfairness")
Pay close attention to the timestamp between sending your initial appeal and receiving the club's rejection.
I've seen emails returned in under 90 minutes stating: "We have carefully considered the explanation you provided, together with the findings of our investigation. Following this review, we have concluded that the restriction on your account will remain in place."
It is completely unbelievable that a thorough, individualised, and "careful" investigation, cross-referencing telemetry logs, device IDs, and appeal explanations, was conducted within 90 minutes, and that the reply was written. This indicates an automated, predetermined outcome and a total lack of due process, and the use, as stated above, of AI-generated responses.
Advice: Record these exact timestamps. This rubber-stamping is crucial evidence of administrative failure if you take your case to the Independent Football Ombudsman (IFO) or pursue legal action.
2. Submit a Subject Access Request (SAR) Immediately
The club is using vague, boilerplate language to reject appeals without actually telling supporters what they have done wrong.
Rejection emails routinely include paragraphs like these:
"In reaching our decision, we considered the wider pattern of activity associated with your account, including the nature and extent of connections between accounts, Strong Relationships, ticket applications and transactions, ticket usage and other indicators identified through the Club's detection and analysis processes."
"While you explained that access to your account was provided solely to facilitate legitimate away ticket applications and ticket forwarding for your supporter group, your response did not satisfactorily explain the wider pattern of activity identified during our investigation. When considered collectively, the scale, frequency and nature of the activity were not consistent with the limited account administration described in your response."
Notice that neither paragraph specifies an actual, proven rule breach by the individual. They rely entirely on secret algorithms and vague "indicators."
Advice: You must force them to hand over the data behind these claims. Submit a formal Subject Access Request (SAR) under UK GDPR immediately. (See my SAR guide and template here: https://t.co/KhLav1ihBC).
3. The Club’s Misapplication of Contract Terms and Law
One core argument the club is using against match-going groups this season is phrased as follows:
"By providing another person with access to your account, including your username and password, you also provided them with access to and control over any tickets held within it. The Club's Ticketing Terms and Conditions state that tickets are personal to the registered Ticket Holder and may only be used, transferred or shared through the Club's authorised processes."
This argument is legally defective. Equating shared login access with an unauthorised ticket transfer is a complete misapplication of contract law.
- Theoretical Access vs. Actual Breach: The club’s published Terms & Conditions strictly prohibit the actual transfer, resale, or unauthorised use of match tickets. In contract law, having the theoretical ability or permission to access an account is not legally equivalent to performing an unauthorised ticket transfer.
- Lack of Evidence: The club has produced zero telemetry proof, whether via digital wallet provisioning, stadium turnstile scans, or transfer logs, showing that a ticket was downloaded, transferred, or scanned by anyone other than the registered ticket holder.
- Administrative Convenience vs. Ticket Misuse: Allowing a trusted coordinator or family member to manually log in to submit a joint away application or navigate known website glitches during renewals is an administrative convenience, not a ticket transfer.
Restricting an account based on an assumed, unproven breach, without producing telemetry proof of actual ticket misuse, violates basic contractual principles under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This alone creates strong grounds for a legal challenge or a complaint to Trading Standards.
4. What to Put at the End of Your Stage 2 Appeal
When submitting your Stage 2 appeal, do not accept their vague assertions. Use firm, formal language and explicitly link your appeal to your SAR. You should receive an official acknowledgement email once your SAR is submitted.
Closing text you should consider using:
The club's published Terms and Conditions prohibit the actual transfer or unauthorised use of match tickets, not administrative access to coordinate joint applications. You have produced zero evidence showing that any ticket associated with my account was downloaded, transferred, or used by anyone other than myself.
I request that:
- My account restrictions be immediately removed.
- My Stage 2 appeal remain formally open pending the full fulfilment of my Subject Access Request, should you refuse to reinstate my account immediately.

Fuck off you weapon. You and your colleagues didn’t say a word when @WMPolice made the decision to refuse the entire Legia Warsaw fanbase entry because of their conduct.
But of course it’s Israelis, so break out the violins
Their behaviour in Amsterdam was abhorrant.
Gary Neville speaks for 3 minutes about how division is being created all over the place and that we need to become more neutral with each other but leave it to “GB Politics” to take one quote out of the entire thing in an attempt to creat division about what he’s saying.

"What's the legal position to remove Indefinite Leave to Remain from people already granted it? Many of whom have jobs, lives, families here"
"And care homes, hotels, restaurants, the NHS, are already struggling to fill vacancies with exactly the type of workers you would be targeting"
"Are you happy to further damage those sectors?"
Nigel Farage, "None of the 800,000 who came in under Boris Johnson will be given Indefinite Leave to Remain"
So more staff shortages, which means even higher prices in hotels and restaurants, and poorer service delivery on the NHS 🤷♂️
They're literally outlining exactly the damage this will cause to our society, shame on anyone who believes hardship and even more difficulty is the way forward
Peston (2016), "Every big international organisation, the IMF, the OECD, the Bank of England, all say leaving the EU would impose a significant economic cost on Britain and British people. Are they all just making it up?"
Nigel Farage, "They're paid to say so"
Peston, "What do you mean they're paid to say so"
Nigel Farage, "Of course they're paid to say so"

Nigel Farage wants to get rid of the ECHR so he can write your Human Rights.
And by him I mean his masters Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Peter Thiel.
Do you really want to vote for that?
As we've seen across history, the populist playbook used by Farage is ugly, powerful and incredibly destructive.
We know where it will lead if we don't stop it.
