@lugnutda1st@AlistairCarns I doubt the fella paying him ยฃ5 million is gonna be leaving him alone.
This is what being in the pocket of a billionaire looks like.
Politicians should be representatives of the people. Not the puppet of some shady bloke in Thailand
Farage needs to make his own Brexit
@nicksortor So average Joe touches the sealant = arrested
Trump drives a motorcade over it = photo op and applause
Welcome to the land of the not so free!
@JohnLeFevre@TrentTelenko Average US citizens lives to 79, average European to 82.7.
Something going wrong in the US and itโs beyond just the fetishisation of firearms
@relaxingblonde@piersmorgan Strong leaders?
Trump? Aka TACO, see Iran for the latest
Putin? Humiliated by an ex-comedian
Or the endless steam of dictators in history who commit atrocities to try paper over their own psychological weaknesses and insecurities?
Who exactly is the strong leader you want?
@Paul34529518@SionJobbins An enemy of the nation is doing what Tommy Robinson is doing, going to Moscow to get his orders from the Kremlin or Farage who re-enters politics to serve billionaires.
Those are the actions of individuals who have no care for you or I
@xisshit37@SionJobbins Enlighten us, what has he done that is so deserving of hatred?
Labour won the 2024 election, how is that a lie - do you even live on planet earth?
@WarMonitor3 Probably more likely because the trial was ongoing and excessive reporting prior to the verdict may risk prejudicing the jury and even risk denying justice for Nowak. Most outlets today have it as their lead story or major story following the trial verdict.
@JacqWitjes@IAPonomarenko Exactly it, Ukraine for you Vlad, Xi go ahead and have Taiwan, meanwhile Iโll have that nice looking Greenland over there.
He sees sovereign territory and the millions of lives affected as just another property deal.
@Bbmorg Best thing he could do is say weโre taxing the wealthiest 1% and using it to pay for the 1% uptick in defence spending to 3.5% GDP.
Defence needs to go up and itโs right those with the broadest shoulders (and most assets being defend) are the ones paying for that.
@Bbmorg Fallout from the MEast could easily last the next 12-18 months.
Better to keep Starmer as any leader will be hammered during this window and then bring a fresh leader in early 2028.
The governments policies are the right ones, but Starmer wonโt be round to see them bare fruit.
@the_mantress@thinkdefence Tax rates used to be far higher my good man. A time many call the โgood old daysโ
The biggest problem is the offshoring and international financing spiders web that creates a sense of injustice for the 99% that play by the rules. Squashing that bug is in all of our interests.
@Bbmorg I can understand why people might dislike Kier Starmer but to actually hate the man seems ridiculously over the top.
Broadly speaking if you took the mean political position of the UK population on most issues it would probably look very close to a Kier Starmer.
@cdrsalamander@TrentTelenko Resigning when you can no longer in good conscious carry out your governments wishes that you see to be harming not just your host country but also Americas long term values and interests is the honourable and right way to approach to take, regardless of political stances.
@toddmh1969@Maks_NAFO_FELLA Most Ukrainian intelligence is now from European sources.
The US *had* a proud history of standing with democracies, more recently this administration seems desperate to side with despots but are simply mindful of the bad optics and โwhiplashโ domestically doing so would entail.
@SavchenkoReview@Maks_NAFO_FELLA In other news a man who sh*t all over the carpet in the hallway of an apartment block, was caught trying to cajole his neighbours to clean up his mess.
His latest argument included โyou all use this hallway way more than me anyway!โ
@FUDdaily Donโt know pal, Scandinavian countries are a lot more redistributive than we are yet economically outperform us
US meanwhile is a lot less redistributive but has poverty wastelands with opioid epidemics and murder rates in cities up to 50 times higher than anything here
@WarMonitor3 At this point the current US administration has outlined it wants Europe to be little more than vassals that do its bidding.
I donโt think thatโs what the majority in Europe want frankly. We should be following Canadaโs lead and tell them where to stick that attitudeโฆ
@safconservative @PolitlcsUK@Reuters Trump stood for an isolationist America and no more stupid wars.
Heโs now gone and waged a stupid war with economic consequence no one globally is isolated from.
Heโs nothing more than a malignant narcissist lashing out at anyone he can after digging himself into a hole.
@LukeJohnsonRCP Important to note that health employees (one of the largest sectors) in the UK are largely NHS, whereas in other countries they will be private sector.
Likewise more services may be delivered in house vs contracted out to a private company (not always with better outcomes).
