Sunday Crop walk results:
For most the rain is awesome, spare a thought for those it isn’t
Visited spud pivots today for a couple customers, most have so far survived significant rainfall, a couple not so much.
This pivot had no irrigation for the last week, even on the last 35 degree day trying to make room for rain, should it come this weekend.
Yesterday: 80mm
Today: 10mm so far
Losses likely in the order of 1,800t
Photo from the part of the pivot NOT under water
🤞🤞
@CorbinSchuster Was driving around the area Monday watching balers going flat out and thinking the same thing yesterday morning with to rain! Cruel game farming!
@WheatWatcher Interestingly, was speaking with another guy who was going to import a second hand JD 250hp to AUS from NZ. Even after costs he expects to save about $70k, plus it’s done about 2000 hours less
@JamieNicolaou There were some dripper lines but not used obviously. I think once they get up and away they survive on their own.
Bit sad to see as they were often planted by migrants who moved and started market gardening there
@SimonCotter62 Did see a review about this suggesting they’ve fixed turbo issues on 2025 plate vehicles. Hopefully that’s the case, I think this looks a pretty decent option especially straight from the factory
