🚨 Michael Carrick on fielding a strong team vs Brighton:
🗣️ Reporter:
“There’s nothing left to play for. A lot of people were surprised by such a strong lineup.”
🗣️ Carrick:
“And that mentality right there is exactly why some clubs never become elite. What do you mean there’s nothing to play for?
This is Manchester United. Since when did we start celebrating third place like it’s a trophy? If I can score 10 against Brighton, I will. Happily.
Not because I hate them… but because we don’t relax here.
Even at 3-0, you go for the fourth. Then the fifth. Then the sixth. We’ve picked up the most points in the league since I took charge… and I don’t plan on dropping that standard. Next season, people will understand what we’re building.”
If the Social Democrats want to talk about standards of debate, they might have thought to let me know before they let journalists know that they'd gone to the teacher.
We didn't shout over female TDs. We shouted over Ministers. But I congratulate the Social Democrats on being able to tell the difference - I had genuinely thought they didn't know what a woman was.
It is a bold new strategy which sees an opposition party filing a formal complaint because government Ministers were held to account. Not even their own Ministers. Someone else's. The Social Democrats remain the only party in Leinster House who would remind the teacher she forgot to assign homework.

This woman has never won an election, cannot string a basic sentence together, and is a literal know nothing.
But because she's a traveller, every year she gets a salary package worth up to €90,000 to stand up and dribble out banalities that would embarrass a 12 year old.
I just heard a great analogy for our immigration chaos.
It’s akin to a man down the pub buying rounds of drinks for everybody, while his wife and kids are hungry at home.
🇮🇪 Irish politician Ken O’Flynn just went NUCLEAR on the Irish Government:
“You blame Trump for everything, but he doesn’t run this Country. YOU introduced the Carbon Tax. YOU turned the Army on the people. If any of you have a backbone, vote to collapse this Government.”

🚨BREAKING🚨
The Irish government is on the run!
They’ve gotten gardai (security men at this stage) to setup huge barriers around the Dail.
They’re petrified huge numbers of protests would arrive as the vote of No Confidence gets underway.
We need these traitors out!

The insane amount of money being paid out by Irish taxpayers on "Aslylum seekers" €6.45 billion 2021–2025, could have
Built 18,000–21,500 new social homes €300k–€350k per unit,
Funded nearly 3× National Children’s Hospitals €2.24bn each
Delivered hundreds of new schools.
Mother of God.
The Irish Media Minister says he will be asking the Media Commission to "examine" protest coverage because it was too lopsided in favour of the farmers and truckers.
The government sent in the military to break up protests and now they want to clamp down on how the media covers those protests because it made the government look bad.
Ireland is gone full totalitarian.
Your reminder of just how much they squandered. €1.9 trillion in 24 years. €1.3 trillion in last 15 years alone. Record revenue, record taxes, & what do we have to show for it? Housing chaos, broken services, crumbling infrastructure. They took everything & delivered nothing.
The protests in Ireland are not about just fuel! They are about the distance between Ireland on this graph and every other modern and developed economy. Ireland is second wealthiest but gets waaaaay less than any other country for that wealth. By a golden mile.
That visual gap in this graph? That’s what people are protesting. It’s a lack of infrastructure and the everyday enshittification of services, the economy, and the additional difficulty of trying to live, relative to peers in any other country. It also highlights why people don’t get uniformly listened to! - because there is no government architecture to engage meaningfully across this huge gap.
That gap is a three hour drive to work in traffic, a 14 month wait for an MRI, buses that don’t arrive, trains that don’t exist, schools that have no places for your kids, houses that are unaffordable, pubs that close before midnight, €12 sandwiches, expensive fuel.
People feel this gap, even if they can’t explain it precisely. And that builds into resentment, and ultimately protest. Fuel just happened to be the next thing that could be pointed to, today.
