I don’t understand. For decades, feminists have argued that women have full control over their minds and that even pointing out mood changes during a cycle is just male misogyny.

Now, that entire argument is getting thrown out the window because the Lindsay Clancy defense is literally claiming in open court that hormones can turn someone into a deranged psychopath capable of child murder. It’s wild to watch that narrative completely flip.

A not-guilty finding based on hormones and insanity would have crazy implications. For example, if hormonal states can legally erase accountability, why wouldn’t they also affect fitness for jobs, high-pressure decisions, firearms, and parenting?

Courts cannot treat a woman as legally insane for the worst possible act and then pretend the same reasoning has no implications anywhere else.

Also, Lindsay Clancy is no more insane than Jeffrey Dahmer, who was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, schizotypal personality disorder, and a psychotic disorder, and yet, he was still declared legally sane at trial. For the sake of those children, and for the sake of all the good that’s in this world, I hope the jury makes the only sensible decision here

Pollinating California's almonds takes almost every commercial honeybee in the United States, and in the winter of 2025 the beekeepers lost 62 per cent of them on the way.

Step one. Clear the ground. California grows around 80 per cent of the world's almonds across 1.4 million acres, most of it planted within a generation over rangeland and mixed farmland. The orchard floor is sprayed to bare dirt. Nothing flowers there and nothing nests there, and for eleven months of the year it is one of the quietest places in American agriculture.

Step two. Find the water. An almond takes roughly 1.1 gallons, and the tree drinks every year of its 25 year life whether there is a drought on or not. Almonds account for close to a tenth of all agricultural water use in the state. When the surface allocation is cut, growers drill, and the valley floor has been sinking for decades.

Step three. Import pollinators, because you removed the ones that lived there. Almonds cannot pollinate themselves. An acre needs two colonies, so the bloom needs 2.8 million of them, which is virtually every managed hive in the country. There is no second option and no reserve.

Step four. Load them onto lorries in Florida, Texas and the Dakotas and drive them across a continent. It is the largest movement of livestock on earth and it exists to fertilise a nut. Stack them at densities no bee evolved for, so that every mite, virus and spore in American beekeeping is introduced to every other one, annually, on schedule.

Step five. Spray them while they work. Fungicides go on during bloom because the crop is worth too much to risk. The label says it is safe for bees. The beekeepers have been saying otherwise for twenty years.

Step six. Feed them syrup. A monoculture flowers for three weeks and then offers a colony nothing at all, so the industry keeps its livestock alive on sugar and protein patties for the other forty-nine.

Step seven. Count the dead. Beekeepers had come to accept losing 30 per cent a year. Then February 2025 arrived and commercial operators had lost an average of 62 per cent, some of them close to everything. 1.6 million colonies, $600 million, the worst losses ever recorded. Lorries pulled into Fresno with half the boxes already silent.

Step eight. Shake the trees. Mechanical shakers drop the crop onto the dirt and the valley disappears into dust for weeks, in a basin that already has the worst air in the United States.

Step nine. Feed the hulls to cattle. The waste goes into dairy rations, so the almond industry is quietly propped up by the animal almond milk was invented to replace.

Step ten. Blend two per cent of it with water, add a gum from Rajasthan, chalk for the calcium and a synthetic B12, and print a leaf on the carton.

The cow eats grass and pollinates nothing, because she does not need to. She is the ethical problem. The system that required every bee in America and killed two thirds of them getting there is the solution.

On a serious note, in light of some headlining events, I felt the need to share with you some personal experiences.

My mother had psychosis. Frequently. Most of the time while I was growing up. She developed her mental health issues after baby number 2. Unfortunately for me, I never knew the person she was because I was baby number 3.

She was very chaotic to live with, unstable emotionally, and neglectful. A shell of the person she once was. Her memory was not to be trusted.

My mother was willing to hurt us or neglect us since she was so bitter from paranoia and hate, but she especially loved hurting my dad. She obsessed every day to hurt him.

She stayed isolated and when people began to see behind her facade, find out she had issues, she quickly removed them from her life. She avoided psychiatric treatment.

Only a year or two ago she was finally diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder- like depression but with psychosis. She was absent day to day with complete breaks from reality- mostly paranoid delusions.

She was only diagnosed when she became a ward of the state. After a series of dangerous situations of her own doing, the state remanded her to a locked dementia ward. Thats when a psychiatrist finally saw it. It was validating. In the meantime she was an absolute nightmare to be around, which is hard because you only get one mother.

Before the sudden change in her, she was a high performing member of a large family who looked up to her. Straight A student. Double bachelor at a prestigious university. The jewel of the family. She got married, started a family, and by baby number 3- me- she was no longer herself.

When I see this mother in court on tv, I’m not convinced. My mother was a twisted, raging, bitter alcoholic full of palpable hate and paranoia. She created a nice facade in public and was a monster at home. Living with her was terrifying because when you relaxed she became explosive. There was no one that came to our rescue. She had isolated herself and us. But she didn’t kill. She knew it was wrong.

After growing up in a home with such…. Experiences… I was naturally drawn to psychiatric nursing, which I excelled at. The main reason is I was experienced at handling tough characters, plus I was looking for personal answers. In that time I worked in locked dementia wards, veteran facilities, locked psychiatric wards with forensic patients (those being tested to check for culpability of crimes), victims and perpetrators, kids and adults, psychiatric clinics, and with general medical hospital patients on psychiatric holds.

While I’m not privy to all the details, the shocking details don’t match what I’ve seen or studied. There’s too much cognizance in her actions and manipulation in her post actions. She reminds me of other psychiatric disorders, not PPD.

SSRIs do have serious side effects, like suicide or homicide, but not the way she describes it.

Strangulation is personal. It’s vengeful and angry. Maybe one, but not all 3. It’s not something you do to children you loved. Mothers smother children with a pillow or poison them, not choke them. When you have a psychotic break you are helping the child, even saving the child by ending them, quickly or gently, but with notable regret. This doesn’t match. This matches manipulative murderers. Watch her blame everything else.

I have purposefully not looked into what she did. I can’t. You don’t look kids in the eyes as you end them. You don’t make them watch each other slip away. You know too much as a nurse to do what you did and survive. A mom will stay next to the bodies, otherwise she is plotting. You leave close survivors, like the husband, to torture them, out of spite. You don’t glare with hate in court. Fear or Shock, Not hate.

Remember that bad people like to pose as good people in positions of trust.

Regardless of if they decide she is culpable for her crimes, she deserves to stay locked away for the rest of her life.

I'm jumping in here... I, too, fell for the programming and thought Dolly was a Satanist. I couldn't wait for you to comment and when you did I was a bit skeptical.

Now, I realize that I'm not as awake as I thought I was and was hoodwinked into believing information from sources who provided no proof and because I read it enough times I believed it.

The Lindsay Clancy case has brought up an old memory of reading about a similar case here in Maine.

In 1954, Constance Fisher drowned her 3 young children (6, 5 and 8 months) in the bathtub while her husband Carl was at work. Carl stood by her at trial and she was found not guilty by reason of insanity and sent to a mental institution.

Five years later, she was declared cured and released. She and Carl stayed in Maine and had three more children. In 1966, he came home from work and found that Constance had drowned those three children (6, 4 and 9 months), too.

She was sent back to the mental hospital, where her husband continued to visit her for 7 years. In 1973, he stopped, saying it caused him too much grief. Constance then broke out of the hospital and was found drowned in the Kennebec River. It was ruled an accidental death.

If Lindsay is found to have been insane due to postpartum psychosis when she killed her kids, she should be found not guilty by reason of insanity. But she should spend the rest of her life in the mental hospital because that kind of severe and deadly mental illness isn't something that ever completely disappears.
