@kate_ross_ Oh - the benefit of the costco one is that it's the cheapest quiet DUAL FUEL one I have seen. Propane stores better long term, but gas has more energy density and is cheaper. But the propane is cleaner burning... it's nice to have both, but I think the Harbor Freight is better.

@kate_ross_ Costca has a decent quiet-ish generator for $800. The honda EU series is the cream of the crop. The Harbor Freight clones are nearly as good for half the cost.

Space heaters are 1500 watts, your computer is probably less than 500, so a 2kw generator is probably good enough.
