✓ Emphasized that the Middle Corridor is no longer merely a transit route - it is evolving into a strategic geo-economic system linking Europe, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia, reflecting a structural shift in the architecture of Eurasian connectivity.

✓ Highlighted Azerbaijan’s growing role as a key Eurasian connectivity hub, driven by major investments in rail, maritime, aviation, and digital infrastructure. Azerbaijan’s unique South Caucasian, Central Asian, European, Middle Eastern, and Caspian geopolitical identities and dimensions complement and reinforce one another, positioning the country as a natural bridge across regions.

✓ Noted that in today’s world, the strength of a regional middle power is measured not only by geography, population, economic size, or military capabilities, but also by the quality of its partnerships, its connectivity, and its ability to shape regional and international agendas and it’s influence at the global stage. Azerbaijan increasingly reflects this model.

✓ Reaffirmed our commitment to advancing secure, resilient, and future-oriented connectivity across Eurasia.

On June 14, a working meeting was held in Dilijan, Armenia between Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a range of matters related to the peace agenda between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The importance of sustained bilateral dialogue was underscored in the context of efforts aimed at promoting lasting peace and stability in the region.
The parties also exchanged views on confidence-building measures between the civil societies of the two countries.
Hikmet Hajiyev and Armen Grigoryan decided to maintain working-level contacts confirming that the next meeting will take place in Azerbaijan.

I had a productive meeting with my Romanian counterpart, Marius Lazurca, @MariusLazurca who is visiting Azerbaijan. Reaffirming the strategic partnership and traditional friendship between Azerbaijan and Romania, we discussed the broad opportunities for further deepening our bilateral ties. As the EU member state geographically closest to the South Caucasus, Romania holds an important place in our cooperation. We exchanged views on prospects for advancing collaboration in the political, economic, energy, defense, cultural, humanitarian, and other fields. We agreed to continue our active political and security dialogue.

The issue of missing persons remains one of the most painful humanitarian consequences of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.

More than three decades after the First Karabakh War, 4,009 Azerbaijani citizens remain registered as missing. Thousands of families continue to live with uncertainty, deprived of the fundamental right to know the fate and whereabouts of their loved ones.

As a result of ongoing search, recovery and identification efforts, 889 sets of human remains have been exhumed, 313 missing persons have been identified through DNA and forensic analysis, and 226 have been returned to their families for dignified burial.

The discovery of 32 mass graves in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories provides further evidence of the scale of the humanitarian tragedy and highlights the urgent need for continued cooperation in clarifying the fate of the missing.

Addressing the issue of missing persons is not only a humanitarian obligation. It is a matter of justice, human dignity, reconciliation and lasting peace.

Every identified person brings a family closer to answers. Every recovered remain helps restore truth and preserve memory.

@HBrandstaetter Europe does not need to protect Armenia from "autocratic states". It would be better if Europe, out of fear of Russia, left Georgia behind Europe's doors. It provoked Georgia into war with Russia, and then itself stepped aside.
