Gen Z will not get this but one of the most valuable lessons I learned in life is that unless your limbs have been chopped off in a freak accident, you SHOW UP.
To events, social gatherings, opportunities, to dinner, weddings, birthdays. To things that are important to your friends. To life.
People used to just show up.
Part of what made communities work was this basic habit of participation. The social fabric was built from people being present for one another repeatedly over time.
I think antisocial behaviour is in large part a modern phenomenon.
A lot of it is downstream of the profoundly thyrotoxic / serotonergic nature of modern life. But we can RETVRN.
Show up anyway. Trust me when I say that most good things in life happen because you were in the room.
God only visits the bottom because the top is already occupied by demons who think they're gods. Miracles don't fall on the comfortable, they fall on the crushed, the spat-upon, the ones the world already killed but who refuse to stop breathing. You want a miracle? Lose everything first. He doesn't waste resurrection on people who haven't died yet
As I get older, I understand why the Bible warns about pride, envy, lust, laziness, anger, and overindulgence. It’s not even about being super religious but it’s that you really do feel off when you’re not aligned. All these things really do make it hard to navigate though life
Normalize pursuing the highest version of yourself in all domains of life. Run fast. Lift heavy. Eat right. Run up the business. Get your mind in order. Treat strangers like friends, and friends like family. Life is short. Pursue your potential. Inspire others.
