@MattWeaverRA I’m 45 and have watching NASCAR and the 500 since 1989. I hope someone like you who has access to these officials can provide them with true insight into what their fans really want. Racing. Pure and simple. Give us on the edge of control speed and the racing will be better.

@MattWeaverRA Great article Matt. These comments from Elton Sawyer are very concerning and exemplify the disconnect NASCAR has with its fans. True fans of motor racing would rather see cars two wide going 205 mph then see manufactured “five and six wide” racing with cars going 180. Sad to hear

@CrossingBroad As a long time area NASCAR fan I appreciate Kyle’s take on this. They were close to doing a parkway F1 raceway years ago. I agree a short track isn’t ideal but most fans feel there’s too many road courses right now. Thanks for the article Kyle!

It used to only be thoughts they kept deep down inside but now that they are in echo chambers of people with similar beliefs they start to feel more comfortable to speak these things into existence.
