D8 blow-in, campaigner for livable cities & community centric development. NIMBY for poor design, YIMBY for affordable & communty centric designed housing.
John Callaghan, who withdrew planning objections for cash payments of up to €50,000, ran for Fine Gael at the local elections and was a PR officer in Helen McEntee’s constituency
“Restoring faith in the planning process” was one of his campaign pledges

Great thread for anyone who has heard, or believes, that immigrants are over represented in murder cases. Scoop: the data shows clearly this is a false and wrong assumption.
I put a lot of work into this thread to show immigrants not over-represented as murderers of women in Ireland.
Among the hundreds of racists I blocked, in the comments and QT's, a common complaint was the exclusion of manslaughter and insanity.
"Show that!", they say.

Just woke up in the hospital, large part of healthcare workers here are most likely from immigrant background, delivering great care and being kind to patients. If those rioters from last week would have only a bit of their decency, Ireland would be better for all. #dublinriots
Here is @DarraghOBrienTD with 700 pages of legislation, claiming this is simplification and clarity. He doesn’t even grasp the contradiction of his post and video. #HousingCrisis
Second stage of the Planning Bill will be in the Dáil shortly.
Third biggest piece of legislation at over 700 pages long ⬇️
When passed it will bring greater clarity, consistency & certainty to planning.

Another example of the lack of a moral compass at @FineGael. This is not a small innocent mistake, it is a conscious decision and example of cronyism. #Ireland#HousingCrisis
Helen McEntee intervened in a planning application on behalf of a family friend and wrongly used the title of justice minister.
The applicant had been refused permission for the same development four months previous but was successful this time around.

@john_mcguirk Months of peaceful protest? Do you mean when tents were burned, or refugees intimidated? It certainly is true that a large group of people, especially in Dublin, are left behind and we need to do better for them, but it is in no way an excuse for racism and bigotry.
Truly saddened by what happened in Dublin last night. The fear instilled upon many, by a radical few is angering. Culprits must be held accountable, and so do politicians who have dismissed this racism and bigotry for far too long. #Ireland#DublinRiot
