If the officials were so easily “deceived” according to the wording of the law, when the incident happened right in front of them, then should they really be classed as competent officials?
Where’s their punishment? #wba
Aune Heggebø will serve a two-match suspension after an appeal against a charge of misconduct was unsuccessful.
We remain steadfast in our support of Aune, whose character and integrity have been evident throughout his time at The Hawthorns.
Just back from Norwich, really good win to start the league season. First half wasn’t the most convincing going forward (although we did well to stay in the game).
Second half we came out, were much better on the ball and defended well. Thought O’Leary was fantastic #wba
@KenzoGLover Good passer of the ball and will get the odd goal but lacks pace. In games where you’re in control and dictating he’ll be fine, although in a more open game he’s struggled sometimes without the legs to really get up and down the pitch.
Absolutely understand the sale, last year of his deal and not getting any younger. Although he 100% will need replacing - be interesting to see how much we’ve got and who we move for #wba
#dcfc set to announce the signing of Alex Mowatt from #wba in the next 24 hours after the midfielder did his medical today. Long-term target for Derby manager John Eustace
Not seen him before but early noises are good, nice to see that he’s played a lot of games already.
With a younger player didn’t want to fall into the trap of being their first senior experience.
Again good to see us look further afield, and also give midfield some depth #wba
We're delighted to announce the signing of Rabby Nzingoula for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance. ✍️
Welcome to the Albion, Rabby! 🇫🇷
Good performance today, obviously have to take the level of opposition into consideration but nice to look so slick in our first game.
Still think we need a number of players in, but a good start #wba
Don’t know too much about Galves other than what I’ve read on here, but nice to see the club looking further ashore for deals that could potentially improve us.
Hopefully he’s more Heggem than Frabotta #wba
@tobymid123@joejb45 It’d be just our luck for Styles to pick up an injury though 😅
I’d just rather prep for any eventuality rather than sit and hope he doesn’t pick up any knocks or has any drop off in form for whatever reason
@tobymid123@joejb45 And as much as he’s here and great for the dressing room, my worry is at his age and having come back from that injury, if he has to play, there’s no guarantees he can be relied upon is all.
@tobymid123@joejb45 Because we’ve had many ‘backups’ in the past (Reach, Holgate, Wildsmith, Taylor etc) who simply when needed to be called upon haven’t been good enough.
Agree it’s lower risk having a backup, but my issue is in this league generally you’ll need to rely on them at some point
@Sk1pperrwba@baggiedave70 Christ mate, I’m saying that people are making out that it’s either £££ player or Townsend. I’m not spinning any narrative 😂
It’s not difficult to understand. Why go to an ageing ex had a serious injury, there’s a world of players outside of the ones already in our phone book.
Not impressed with this at all. Whole world of players available and we turn to an ex player who’s on the wrong side of 30 and has just come off the back of a serious cruciate ligament injury.
Where’s this supposed scouting network? As poor as signing as Charlie Taylor #wba
BREAKING: Albion will be signing Conor Townsend on a free transfer. The 33-year-old is set to sign a one-year contract.
He was Baggies vice captain before leaving for Ipswich in 2024, so adds vital experience to the squad on and off the field #WBA
@Sk1pperrwba@lukecrowther121 Why do they have to have champ experience? Every country in the world is going to have leagues upon leagues full of players.
It’s not my job to know every single player and their demands, but I can tell you without any doubts that there’s more than just Townsend out there.
@lukecrowther121 Whole world of footballers out there though mate, just because Townsend is cheap doesn’t mean he’s the only cheaper option.
The issue of hopefully not relying on backups is so difficult in the championship (Holgate, Wildsmith, Frabotta etc).
@baggiedave70@brettholwe61722 My point on age is the impact of his cruciate injury. Much harder to recover anywhere near as well at that age than it is when younger.
If you take away his name, and we’d just signed another 33 year old left back who’d just come off a serious injury would you be happy?
@baggiedave70 Not saying they are. I completely understand that, but still that shouldn’t mean Townsend is automatically the only option is all I’m saying.
It just feels like people have made the situation very black or white. Townsend or a left back that’ll cost loads, there’s an inbetween.
@baggiedave70 Why does it have to be a prem player? It’s not my job to know every player in the world, it’s those at the club, but I’m very confident that there’s more out there than just Townsend.
