Children’s education is not suffering because teachers are on strike.
Children’s education is suffering from years of underfunding, undervaluing and lack of understanding of how stretched schools are.
It’s not self serving, not greedy, it’s wanting better for the children.
9Y & 9F thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated today’s session with Serena from @MFLMentoring ! With GCSE options looming, this session provided food for thought as they linked languages through idiomatic phrases 🤩
MUCHAS GRACIAS Serena, and MERCI to @mme_humphries for organising!
This will no doubt be an unpopular opinion, but I’ve always taken the stance that if the union votes for strike action, then members *must* act accordingly.
Otherwise we are fighting for fair pay, etc. for members who aren’t making the sacrifice we are.

My wife caught her finger in a car door last week so we popped into a ‘walk in clinic’ in Santa Monica to have the dressing changed. They tried to sell us an X-ray. They tried to sell us antibiotics. They took the old dressing off and put a new one on. $160.00. Treasure our NHS!
I'm a teacher who went on #strike in February. I've just looked at my recent payslip.
My strike action cost me £47.
Pleasantly surprised at how low it is.
Then I remember that that was the point of the strike action!
