Monticello Boys and Girls Lacrosse both beat Brainerd tonight!

The boys won 17-9 at home and the girls won 11-10 on the road!

State Track & Field Results: Day 1

Isabel Mahoney: State Champion in the 3200 Meter Run (10:34.50) winning by almost four seconds.

Kaela Skistad: Sets new Class AA record in the 400-meter (55.32) and qualifies in the 200-meter dash as well (25.06).

Girls 4x200 (Hansen, Lilledahl, Palacois, Skistad) take second place and advance to the finals tomorrow (1:43.23).

Lauren Hansen takes 34th in the long jump.

Gus Staryszak takes first in the 100-meter dash prelims (10.67), setting a new school record and advancing to tomorrow's finals. Gus also finishes 16th in the Shot Put

Stanley Sterriker and Ben Fasen take 10th and 13th in the 400-meter dash.

Alex Zettervall takes 14th in the 800-meter run.

DJ Hausmann takes 17th in the 300-meter hurdles.

Boys 4x100 (Staryszak, Hausmann, Daranijo and Bropleh) take sixth and advance to tomorrow's finals (42.83).

Boys 4x400 (Zettervall, Mack, Pena, and Fasen) take 20th place.

Bropleh and Guertin go 1-2 in the Boys Triple Jump, taking home 22 team points for the Magic!

February 5th is National Girls & Women in Sports Day.

On February 4, 1987, President Ronald Reagan declared the first National Women in Sports Day, which recognized the history of women's athletics and the progress made by the Title IX amendment passed in 1972.

At Monticello, we recognize these amazing student-athletes and everything they bring to our school and community!
