I ran for Los Angeles County Supervisor because I believe government should be held accountable to the people it serves. While that race didn't end the way I had hoped, it reinforced something important: the public institutions with the greatest impact on people's lives are often the ones receiving the least public attention.

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is one of the largest community college systems in the nation. It oversees nine colleges, serves hundreds of thousands of students, and manages a budget of over $10B, 90% of that comes from taxpayers. Yet most Angelenos couldn't name a single trustee.

When there is little public attention, transparency and accountability become even more important.

I'm running for LACCD Board of Trustees, Seat 6, because students and taxpayers deserve responsible stewardship of public funds, transparent decision-making, and trustees who answer for their actions.
Public trust isn't built on promises, it's built on oversight.

Unlike my County Supervisor race, every voter in Los Angeles will have the opportunity to vote for me in this election on November 3.

K–12 and our community colleges are just as plagued by political corruption as the mayor’s office, the LA City Council, and the Board of Supervisors, and the community colleges rank fifth among LA’s most powerful institutions. Losing the supervisorial race did not end my fight for Los Angeles.

I knew on Election Day that my campaign had come to an end, which is why I conceded. Now that the race has officially been called, it's time for me to officially bow out.

Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way-whether through donations, words of encouragement, volunteering, or simply saying my name and helping spread my message.

Thank you to those who believed in me enough to endorse my candidacy. It was an honor to represent you and the values we share.

Thank you to every organization, luncheon, and community group that invited me to speak and share my vision for Los Angeles County.

Most importantly, thank you to my parents. They never stopped believing in me, never doubted me, and stood by my side every step of the way. I am incredibly grateful for their unwavering love and support.

As for me, it's time to step away- for now.

But this is not goodbye.

DSA Indoctrination starts in the classroom—beginning in grade school, continuing through college, and ultimately influencing future government leadership. When elected school officials fail to provide the oversight they were elected to deliver, they become part of the problem instead of the solution.

If you’re a parent of a child who is either in grade school or college, wouldn’t you want to know what’s happening in the classroom?

Do you think having live cameras in K-12 classrooms would be too invasive or the transparency that parents deserve?

If the public are so unaware of LA County BOS, can you imagine how much LACCD Board of Trustees get away with- after all, in the public’s eyes they don’t even exist.

Trustees have a responsibility to ensure that students are graduating, earning meaningful credentials, transferring to four-year universities or entering careers that provide greater earning potential than a high-school diploma alone.

Trustees may not manage classrooms or guarantee every student a job, but they control policy, approve budgets and oversee workforce programs. They must track graduation rates, job placement and graduate earnings, and hold district leadership accountable when taxpayer-funded programs fail to deliver results.

Education should provide opportunity, job-ready skills and a path toward economic independence. Anything less is failing our students and our taxpayers.
