“Sustainable peace cannot be imposed from the outside; it must be built within communities, and above all, with those who are directly affected.” ~ Mr. @tokearnoldi, European Union Delegation to Uganda.
Speaking at the Mpondwe–Lhubiriha Memorial Unveiling, Mr. Toke reaffirmed the European Union’s commitment to standing with victims, survivors and communities in preventing and countering violent extremism and terrorism.
The @EU_Commission funded the Peace Beyond Borders project, implemented by Prospect Initiative, @KofiAnnanFdn and @PoleInstitute, to support community resilience, victims’ rights and locally grounded prevention efforts.

What happens when 24 young peacebuilders from Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Spain, Italy, and Germany come together in one space?
The Amani Pamoja Youth Exchange created an opportunity to learn from one another, exchange experiences, and explore practical approaches to advancing the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Agenda across Africa and Europe.
From interactive team-building activities and discussions on peace, conflict, and peacebuilding to country poster exhibitions showcasing youth-led initiatives, participants built a shared understanding while appreciating the diverse contexts shaping peacebuilding in their respective countries.
Through cross-country learning groups, participants examined promising practices, reflected on their contribution to the YPS Agenda, and explored how these approaches can be strengthened and adapted in different contexts. Conversations on PeaceTech and Youth Civil Participation in Peacebuilding further challenged participants to think about innovative and inclusive ways of advancing peace.
The Amani Pamoja Youth Exchange is part of the Amani Pamoja Project, implemented in partnership with @catvoluntaria, @agencypb, @LamuYouth, @cyd_zanzibara, and Peace Up, with co-funding from the @EU_Commission under the @EUErasmusPlus
