@PolitlcsUK @BBCNews The Blair gov did a review into impact of adding VAT to private school fees. The out come of that review is it would cost the country MORE than would raise in tax. Places at state schools are being saved by parents sending their kids to private schools. This gov are shortsighted.

@kelvmackenzie As a business owner this worries me. large companies will leave UK. But for small and medium size business it's less of an option. For me, I'll look at reducing staff, cut spend & pass costs on to end user. I've taken massive risks to start my business, where's the incentive.

Brace for ANOTHER Labour tax hike. This one will hit hard. Packaging tax , UK producers will have to pay a recycling tax on goods they produce pushing costs on to consumers 5 - 25% increase, from a can of coke to an electric kettle. 1/2

🚨 BREAKING: The UK has leapfrogged France to become the 8th largest manufacturer in the world.

With an annual output of £224 billion, the buoyant sector now supports 2.6 million jobs according to new data released this morning by trade association @MakeUK_ .

The figures are contained in the latest annual ‘Manufacturing – The Facts’ which contains a wide variety of data about the contribution of manufacturing to the economy including exports, sectoral breakdown, how the UK compares to other nations and salary levels.

Make UK estimates that if the Government commits to its call for a manufacturing target of 15% of GDP, this will add an additional £142 billion to the UK economy. #UKmfg
