Terry's Chocolate Orange was born in York in 1932.
Terry’s of York was founded in 1767.
Kraft bought the business in 1993.
They reportedly told unions production had to move because the old factory could not cope — and that they were looking for a new site in York.
Instead, the York factory closed in 2005.
316 jobs were lost. Production moved to Kraft sites across Europe.
Today, your Chocolate Orange is made in France by Carambar & Co.
The historic factory? Now flats, offices and a care village.
Another famous English brand hollowed out until only the name was left.
