@AntonioTweets2 The saying is "Nine meals to anarchy". Nobody will say enough is enough until the grocery store shelves go empty. Then everybody loses their minds at the same time.
@Randomperv75399@wealthmoose Note that I said: "There's going to be a LOT of surplus power GENERATION CAPACITY in Canada." That means that there will be plants running at partial load, sitting idle or shutdown completely. It was YOU that talked about "surplus power".
@Randomperv75399@wealthmoose There won't be a surplus of power because the generating stations will operate at greatly reduced capacity - or they'll sit idle. Generation matches the load.
@Randomperv75399@wealthmoose It was the threat - and that's all that matters. The US has designated aluminum as strategic. Look for aluminum plants in Canada to lose their export market in the US as well. There's going to be a LOT of surplus power generation capacity in Canada.
@ChrisZazula@BcMeggster@FoodProfessor 63% of Canada's GDP is real estate and government spending. Our national economy is worse than Mississippi's. What - exactly - are you clinging to?
@BcMeggster@ChrisZazula@FoodProfessor I'm an old guy and lived close to the US border for most of my life. I clearly remember when the C$ was worth more than the US$ - and things were FAR more expensive here as compared to the US. When NAFTA came in, prices in Canada for many things dropped a lot.
@Randomperv75399@wealthmoose After Doug Ford bellowed into the TV cameras threatening to shut off power exports - in the winter - I very much doubt that that will be an issue going forward. Look for power US power imports from Canada to drop to zero once the contracts expire.
@Randomperv75399@wealthmoose Remember that US imports of electrical power typically range from near 0% to 1.5% of their total power requirements. This means that we're - at best - 81.6% of 1.5%. We are a rounding error.
@RickTrembl35994@kpac_15 If white guys had done this, every detail imaginable including names & charges laid would have been in the legacy media for days on end.
@OLDDAD2024 Fuel economy and emissions rules ended manual transmissions. It will be interesting to see if manuals resurface in the US, since they rolled-back most of the insane laws & regulations.
@CoryMaillett@FoodProfessor The Detroit - and Japanese - auto makers will not keep plants open that don't turn a profit. The idiotic carbon tax, out of sync with US emissions rules, and tariffs - any one of these, let alone 2 or all 3, spell the end of the auto sector.
@johnnylightnin@FoodProfessor You are living in the past. The UK is even further down the woke rabbit hole than we are. They cannot retain or recruit personnel. They have more admirals than ships, and no longer have the capability to produce things like main guns for tanks.
