@EMKsusinskitech Q7A7: I recommend using pacing and variety. @CodemonkeySTU provides many different courses and options for classrooms. Students seem to get the most out of working on coding for part of each class period!
@EMKsusinskitech Q6A6: As a teacher, I find the teacher solutions valuable since students are working at their own pace and there are literally hundreds of challenges! This helps immensely when students have questions.
@EMKsusinskitech Q5A5: In Coding Adventure, students learn how to redefine a variable inside of a for loop in Coffee Script. In BananaTales, students learn that this is common practice in Python as well when they program For Loops and have to redefine variables to increase or decrease the value.
Q5: Banana Tales has many cross curricular connections with math. Can you give a specific example of a time where you have seen these connections in the course?
*Please use the standard Q5 & A5 #CodeMonkeyChat when replying
@EMKsusinskitech Q4A4: python is a great starting point for real world code syntax after students work with drag and drop operator blocks and coffee script. This progression helps students understand attention to detail and the use of deductive reasoning to solve problems.
@EMKsusinskitech Q3A3: At @ArborHillsJH, I have students for 5 weeks in sixth grade and 9 weeks in 7th and 8th. They work on block coding in 6th, coffee script in 7th and python code using banana tales in 8th. CodeMonkey has many courses to accommodate many different grade and skill levels.
