Work in a college as a janitor, even though Im smarter than most of the people who go there, I see an equation written on a blackboard and I just figure it out.
44,000 likes and 1.1 million views for a video of complete lies, alleging a migrant assaulted a holidaymaker.
Literally none of that happened.
I'll go through the facts of the video; albeit a forlorn task, given none of these racist bullies care about stuff like 'the truth.' /1
Why is Alan Shatter, the ex justice minister no less, allowed to issue what appears to be weekly SLAAP threats to people and organisations with impunity?
This practice is illegal in this country, in my honest opinion, after researching the issue. Shatter is clearly using social media to revel in the fear and submission of his targets for political purposes and to the detriment of public participation. Use of legal threats to cultivate public apologies is illegal.
Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation (“SLAPPs”)
“A significant proposal contained in the Draft General Scheme is the potential introduction of a new section into the 2009 Act to address SLAPPs, the use of strategic and abusive litigation by powerful plaintiffs to deter public discussion. Under the proposal, defendants would be able to apply to a court for early dismissal of an action, or, after the full hearing for a dismissal and/or declaration that the proceedings constituted a SLAPP. The Draft General Scheme provides that proceedings may be considered by a court to constitute a SLAPP if they have certain “features of concern” such as:
“(a) the making of claims of a disproportionate, excessive or unreasonable nature;
(b) intimidation, harassment or threats made by the plaintiff or his or her representatives against the defendant or associated parties, including prior to the institution of the proceedings;
(c) the existence of multiple proceedings initiated by the plaintiff or associated parties, against the defendant or associated parties, in relation to similar matters;
(d) the conduct of the litigation by the plaintiff in a manner which is disproportionate, excessive or unreasonable, including (but not limited to) the use of aggressive, unreasonably frequent, or intrusive pre-action communication...”
If proceedings are found to constitute a SLAPP, a plaintiff may be liable to bear the defendant’s costs in full. Furthermore, if a court is satisfied that defamation proceedings are a SLAPP or abusive, a court may award damages to the defendant in those proceedings for harm suffered as a result of the proceedings.”

The described law came in to effect earlier this year and contains specific provisions to prevent exactly what Alan Shatter is doing here and every other day.

A lot of people seem unaware of the achievements of the socialists in Venezuela 🇻🇪 before US sanctions wrecked the economy. Here's a rundown by the numbers (taken from the United Nations and quoted in my book, "Bad News From Venezuela, 20 Years of Fake News and Misreporting"):
GDP per capita:
1999: $5150
2012: $6434
Poverty:
1999: 49.4%
2012: 25.4%
Extreme Poverty:
1999: 17.9%
2012: 7.1%
Unemployment:
1999: 15.0%
2012: 8.1%
School Enrollment:
1999: under 50%
2012: Almost 75%
Undernourished population:
2000-2002: 3.8 million
2010-2012: "Not statistically significant number" [i.e.: close to zero]
Doctors per 10,000 inhabitants:
1998: 18
2012: 58
Number of free health clinics built, 1999-2012:
7,000
Number of people receiving old age pensions:
1999: 0.39 million
2012: 2.1 million
During the years of Hugo Chavez (1999-2012/2013), the government built a nationalized healthcare and education system from scratch. In 2005, UNESCO declared Venezuela free of illiteracy.
This doesn't mean everything was perfect by any means, but the gigantic and extraordinary successes the country was making attracted academics, statisticians, and epidemiologists from around the world to study it. Indeed, in 2013, the UN awarded Venezuela special recognition in combatting poverty and achieving rapid human development.
They were able to do this because Chavez nationalized the country's resources (oil) and used the profits to fund social programs, rather than enrich foreign billionaires.
It was precisely this threat of a good example that precipitated a massive US economic blockade of the country, which crippled the economy, and led to mass emigration and hardship. The United States is and was terrified that such a successful example of socialism would inspire people across the planet into believing a better world is possible.
Who was Chaim Herzog, really?
There is a fierce debate in Ireland about changing the name of a public park in Dublin that carries the name of Chaim Herzog.
Dubliners should know that Chaim Herzog was the president of Israel when members of the Jewish Underground terrorist group murdered 4 Palestinians, detonated cars of Palestinian mayors, and plotted to blow up the dome of Al Aqsa in the early 1980s.
After a long Shin Bet investigation, 29 people stood trial in Israel. 15 of them were sentenced to prison terms, and 3 received a life sentence for murder, attempted murder, and terrorist conspiracy.
President Herzog pardoned several members of the Underground almost immediately. A few years later, he commuted the sentences of the 3 who received a life sentence 3 times. Eventually, they served less than 7 years in prison, after murdering 4 people and coming close to destabilizing the Middle East.
Hezog also expressly pardoned everyone involved in the field execution of two Palestinians who were caught alive after taking over an Israeli bus and demanding the release of Palestinian prisoners. The Palestinians hurt no one on the bus, and they even released one of the passengers who was pregnant.
The two were executed on the spot at the direct order of the head of Shin Bet, who was present. He and others later colluded to falsify evidence and mislead the courts. Herzog pardons all of them within weeks of the scandal being made public in May 1986.
Additionally, Herzog spread vile Zionist propoganda against Iraq in the West, and contributed to the atmosphere that led to the invasions of Iraq.
Bonus item
A poll that was conducted in the mid-1980s found that 73% of Jewish Israelis supported the actions of the Jewish Underground.
It did not start on October 7, and Herzog can and should be seen as one of the architects of the current Israel
Contrary to disinformation over Herzog Park, being peddled by anti-Palestinian influencers and Israel advocacy, there is a whole rationale behind efforts to remove the name Herzog from the Park in Rathgar that have absolutely nothing to do with 'erasing Irish Jewish history' 🧵
In a normal world, this should be an immense scandal in Europe.
Le Monde has a long article (https://t.co/HsWFThQ5wF) describing the hellish life of Nicolas Guillou, a French judge at the ICC in The Hague, due to U.S. sanctions punishing him for authorizing arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant for war crimes in Gaza.
Guillou's daily existence has been transformed into a Kafkaesque nightmare. He cannot: open or maintain accounts with Google, Amazon, Apple, or any US company; make hotel reservations (Expedia canceled his booking in France hours after he made it); conduct online commerce, since he can't know if the packaging is American; use any major credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex are all American); access normal banking services, even with non-American banks, as banks worldwide close sanctioned accounts; conduct virtually any financial transaction.
He describes it as being "economically banned across most of the planet," including in his own country, France, and where he works, the Netherlands.
That's the real shocking aspect of this: the Americans are:
- punishing a European citizen
- for doing his job in Europe
- applying laws Europe officially supports
- at an institution based in Europe
- that Europe helped create and fund
and Europe is not only doing essentially nothing to protect him, they're actively enforcing America's sanctions against their own citizen - European banks closing his accounts, European companies refusing him service, European institutions standing by while Washington destroys a European judge's life on European soil.
Again, in a normal world, European leaders and citizens should be absolutely outraged about this. But we've so normalized the hollowing out of European sovereignty that the sight of a European citizen being economically executed on European soil for upholding European law is treated, at best, as an unfortunate technical complication in transatlantic relations.
