Assuming popularity is defined only by fans from the Western hemisphere—where GS are hosted—shows the same narrow mindset that calls local US competitions ‘World championships” This is only 15% of the global population and tennis fans base.

@ysalcsw @nick_ally1986 Sport has always been an extension of politics. Novak disrupted a sport long dominated by the West — where all GS are held.

His refusal to conform, from dominance on court to rejecting imposed behaviors or vaccine mandates, reminds Westerners that their era of control is over.
