The 11-1 A&M’s can’t even score a touchdown vs the ACC and LSU losses to Houston in the B12. ESPN gave LSU an 80% chance of winning that game by the way.

I grieve the passing of President Jeffrey R. Holland. Our relationship in education and Church service began more than 50 years ago. It was a long and loving relationship in the work of the Lord.

We honor his unwavering devotion, his steadfast witness of the Savior, and his inspired ability to strengthen faith and deepen understanding.

We thank our Father in Heaven for the blessing of shared service and for our united witness that Jesus Christ lives and directs His Church today.

If you're going to penalize a 1-loss Power Conference team for a weak strength of schedule... BYU's SOS is better than Ole Miss and Notre Dame.

If you're going to penalize a team for not having the strongest power ratings (which incorporate prior year's history and recruiting rankings)... BYU's FPI is higher than Oklahoma's.

If you're going to penalize a team for a non-competitive / bad loss... Alabama lost by 14 to a team with a losing record and Miami lost to two unranked teams.

If you're going to use strength-of-record like you indicated you would, BYU's SOR is the second highest of teams 6-12.

BYU also (1) made its conference championship game and (2) if you sum up the wins of the teams it has beaten, it is THIRD in the country. It is hard to win games and BYU has beaten a lot of teams with a lot of wins.

This. Makes. No. Sense.

The @CFBPlayoff should be ashamed of itself. It has literally contorted itself into a pretzel to avoid putting BYU where it should be ranked (somewhere between 6th - 9th).

BYU played in the first live college football game on ESPN in 1984, and ESPN has enjoyed having BYU in its late-night windows for decades, and ESPN gave BYU a TV deal during independence…but this graphic from ESPN is indefensible at best and antagonistic at worst.

These guys get no love despite:

-- Wins over 10-2 Utah and at 9-3 Arizona

Meanwhile some argue that the Big12 is a 1-bid league & tout 7 diff SEC teams being CFP worthy

In my opinion, a person leaves their ‘dream job’ for generational money OR if they feel a lack of respect. That same person stays at their ‘dream job’ if they have ‘operable’ money and feel completely respected. In the case of #BYUFOOTBALL, this is Kalani’s ‘dream job’ — which he has said many times. If it was all about money, he would have left for Oregon. I think the ‘respect’ he seeks is better financial support for his staff, which is far below the Big 12 average. Could BYU really lose him to Penn State? Absolutely. He’s 22-3 in the last two years. Could BYU keep him until he retires? Absolutely. He’s is BYU to his core. When it comes to Kalani, I think this is more about BYU than it is about Penn State — and that means BYU can do something about it. Interesting week ahead! See you tonight on Y’s Guys!

I think it’s fair to say that the bar for BYU to make the playoff is higher than literally anyone else in college football.
