The federal corruption trial of ex-Ald. Ed Burke is delayed by COVID. One attorney on the case has tested positive. U.S. District Judge Virginia Kendall is pressing pause until next Thursday. Opening augments had been expected to take place today, but will now be pushed a week.
Ald. Scott Waguespack is moving to censure Ald. Carlos Ramirez Rosa for alleged bullying. A spox for the City Clerk’s Office told @Tessa_Weinberg they don’t keep lists, but since 2010, there’s only been 1 effort to censure a council member, Ald. James Gardiner, which failed.
