@9NewsMelb@7NewsMelbourne I just witnessed a Deliveroo rider get hit by a car on St George's road. I held his hand as his pulse faded. I've been pleading with the state government member and Rail Level Authority to put in an underpass for people to have safer access!
@A_J_Hood@christmasgay@BOM_Vic I hate how the BOM never issues these a day or two earlier. Literally checked yesterday, there was no warnings. How are we meant to prepare?
@TurnbullMalcolm Interested to see what Keith Pitt has to say tomorrow. Cos I can name a bunch of startups that are providing new jobs in clean-tech. I alluded to this on last weeks Q+A, but I just dont understand why research + the Innovation Agenda doesnt resonate w ex-colleagues in Canberra?
@RammyJangra@QandA@SenKatyG Well, I think the problem is that the States manage quarantine. And if our track record is anything to go by, there is a lot of complexity. When we get it wrong, we start another pandemic in the country. So only once we can ensure there won't be "Rona Leaks" then increase the cap
@LocalReason@QandA The process for offering students places in our unis are all benchmarked. Higher ranking Universities have higher requirements. It's the same globally. Every student has the potential to fail units w/o the added 2nd language requirements. So the standards point is iffy
@Crowls1510@QandA No one is disputing the need to get Australians home. The question was really about how do we safely get both Australians and International students here so that we can get back on track with the huge economic deficit that unis are facing
@VimbayiKajese@QandA The reality we have to confront is that most of our startup companies will have to go overseas to succeed. What Australia needs to decide is how we plan to grow innovators and then get them to come back. If Atlassian has taught anything. It can be done. @mcannonbrookes
@VimbayiKajese@QandA Funnily enough, Australia has been picking up speed on its unicorn companies lately. We have Attlasian, Canva and Judo Bank. But, from my understanding, all of these companies went over to the US or China to start and get their SEED funding
