There is no morality in politics. Its all about dynamic power shifts. I at least respect those involved in politics who admit that fact. I am eternally suspicious of those who claim to be in politics for the sake "the common good"
People shouldnโt be gloating about #KimJongUn either being dead or close to it. He has been the first NK leader to come close to establishing a working relationship with the West (albeit an extremely nascent and fragile one). The last thing the world needs is instability in NK
@NYGovCuomo You are showing impeccable leadership Governor Cuomo. Generally I would oppose your politics but right now all I respect is competence and you are a rare shining example right now.
@chrismartenson Hey Chris I stumbled on a really simple way to explain exponential growth. Take a calculator and do 2x2= and count how many times you have to press = to hit 1m (its 19). and then remember at what point did you STOP believing "it will never hit 1m by 19"
When it comes to #COVID19 there are two types of people. People who know (or at least can conceive an image of) what exponential spread means and people who dont.
Why are so many Western governments giving reassuring but dangerously false information about #COVID2019? Because for the past 30 decades populations have voted for politicians who tell them what they want to hear.
@Bentonra @IrishTimes I have seen hardline US Libertarians call for free healthcare and government backed sick pay during this #coronavirus pandemic. I'm not being glib when I say that you know its serious when people who think Ron Paul is too much of a Lefty starting to sound like Bernie Sanders
Hilarious that Leftwingers are fully defending #Iran, a theocracy that regularly executes what they view as moral degenerates but become apoplectic if Catholics protest abortion. And to be clear, I'm not criticising Iran, it's the sheer hypocrisy that is sickening.
@john_mcguirk I wonder how many people criticising the Pope would have a different opinion if it was a female celebrity/public figure and a man refusing to let go of a handshake? Oh and to be clear I'd support anyone doing what the Pope did in that situation
@paolohughes@john_mcguirk It doesn't mean he has to let total strangers refuse to let go of his hand. When someone is accessible, there is an assumption that people trying to access them wont disrespect their personal space like a weirdo.
@neiltyson You kinda look like an asshole after that tweet Mr Tyson. My advice would be stick to talking about space and leave the social commentary to the non nerds.
#Stormzy is a stupid person who is able to mimic the tone and inflection of intelligent people. The media push it, and the population in general are so collectively and profoundly stupid they buy into the whole charade. #StormzyIsAMassiveBellend
