Grad student at defense: With Ns around 300, not sufficient power for betw-sub interactions, so we didn't pre-reg any.
Committee member: If these Ns aren't enough to detect betw-subj interactions, what about all the effects we've seen being published the last 20 years?
My lab is accepting a doctoral student for 2025! We study goals, motivation, and behavior change using tools from psychology and neuroscience. Our lab values are rigor, interdisciplinarity, transparency, inclusion, and social impact.

Open advanced associate/full professor search at Stony Brook! I've had a great experience so far and the department is growing: @_amengel and I joined last yr, @EricGroenendyk and @SLDeMora joined this yr, and we now have 2 open lines (this & a jr. computational social sci. line)
Social psych friends: do you know of--or have and are willing to share--any dataset(s) of open-ended conversations with survey outcome measures (e.g., enjoyment, connectedness)? Dyads preferred, but >2 speakers also fine. Like the 🔥 CANDOR dataset (even if smaller). Thanks!!
Relevant to recent discussion of the utility of different preregistration platforms, this finding suggests that pre-registration without an analysis plan is not very meaningful, independent of platform.
5: However, we do find that pre-registered RCT studies with a complete pre-analysis plan (PAP) are significantly less p-hacked compared to pre-registered RCT studies without a PAP (5/8)
5: However, we do find that pre-registered RCT studies with a complete pre-analysis plan (PAP) are significantly less p-hacked compared to pre-registered RCT studies without a PAP (5/8)
7: These results point to the potential importance of including quality PAPs and power analyses, rather than just pre-registration, in ensuring credibility; the AEA RCT registry currently does not make the inclusion of both PAPs or power analyses mandatory in registrations (7/8)
I have a post-doc position available for 5 months in this project: https://t.co/7iiw6QeTna
Remote work with occasional visits to Konstanz can be considered. The starting date is 1 December or soon thereafter.
Send me your CV with informal motivation email if interested!

As a new part-time AE at the British J of Health Psychology, I'd like to publicize two formats welcome at this journal, registered reports (https://t.co/AYITi3Cnv9) and preregistered systemic reviews (https://t.co/tkAu7GJCcp)
Anyone know any lme4 experts?
I’ve run into something ~potentially~ buggy with 4-way interactions in glmer
I made a stack overflow post explaining👇🏻 — help/retweets would be much appreciated!!

Anyone know of a comprehensive listing of published registered reports (RRs) in psychology? A PhD-student coauthor and I are planning to submit one (of original work, not a replication). We can see which journals accept RRs, but still not many published examples.
🟡 We are thrilled to officially announce that Social Psychological Bulletin will now be included in the Web of Science (WoS) database (Emerging Sources Citation Index), beginning with articles published in 2022! [1/2]
@thuyvytnguyen @OSFramework Thank you! Some these aren't published yet, as far as I can see. To select a journal to submit an original RR, we've been searching for examples from specific journals (e.g., with search terms) but wondered if there might be an easier way to find published RRs.
@uri_sohn@JnfrLTackett Another idea is that journals' article-submission portals include a separate box each for data, materials, and preregistration, with auto-checking that links work (similar to how portals have required certain types of images, e.g., TIFF, etc.).
@JkayFlake@siminevazire Yes! As someone who long ago had a paper rejected by Diedrik Stapel, this is a sea change that feels like an anti-cynicism vaccine at a time when I needed one.
