This is a necessary step in supporting economic opportunity and improving public health.
Through Senate Bill 118 passed in 2023 funds were allocated to the Health districts. Northern Nevada Public Health agreed to budget 100k to reduce barriers for street vendors.
The city of Long Beach plans to provide dozens of free food carts to vendors as part of its program that aims to support sidewalk vendors https://t.co/i554X0j9tJ
Councilman Barron’s legacy could’ve been defined by uplifting Latino candidates and helping usher in a new generation of elected leaders.
Instead, he chose division, allowing his own self-interest to cloud his judgment. I’m grateful the residents of SD 2 saw through it.
The problem with moving to the middle is that it leaves Latino and immigrant communities out to dry.
Groups pushing this approach are part of the reason Democrats struggle. Instead of abandoning the communities that helped build their coalition.
“Working people used to feel like they were the backbone of this country … Now they feel like they're treated as an inconvenience.”
Is moving to the middle Democrats’ ticket to winning working-class voters and the White House?

I’m proud to stand with our educators, proud to support our youth, and proud to uplift our traditions. This community has given me everything and I’ll keep fighting for it every single day as your choice for Nevada State Senator for District 2
North Las Vegas Councilman Issac Barron has set his sights on Edgar Flores’ state Senate seat, setting up a Democratic primary that has divided powerful unions over a failed film tax credit proposal.

Councilman Barron talks like a Democrat, but his record tells a different story. He has taken shots at street vendors, refuses to give a clear answer on ICE and 287g, voted against neighborhood stability, and backs opportunity scholarships.

I was honored to meet with Las Vegas Deaf Seniors (LVDS) to discuss how SB188 has helped those with limited English proficiency access health care. We spoke about the Senator Donaté’s work to address these challenges for Spanish-speaking Nevadans. This is real policy change.
For 42 days, Republicans have played politics with the lives of millions of Americans. Earlier this morning, the Senate unanimously passed a bill to pay TSA agents, members of the Coast Guard, and FEMA employees while we continue to negotiate commonsense reforms to ICE. House Republicans refused to put this bill on the floor for a vote, and instead passed legislation that would give ICE an additional $10 billion in taxpayer money with no guardrails or accountability.
I voted no because we can’t give ICE another dime without commonsense guardrails and reforms. We must hold ICE to the same standards as other law enforcement agencies.
Let me be clear: we could pass the bipartisan Senate bill tonight to pay the men and women who keep us safe and end the chaos in airports across the country — House Republicans are the only ones standing in the way.
You spent 2024 launching racialized attacks against southern Nevada's only Black senator, then turn around and use footage from her district to take credit for economic prosperity you had little to do with #nvleg
The President’s actions last night were abhorrent and racist, but they are far from shocking. Every day over the past decade he has shown who he is – a thin-skinned, racist, wannabe tyrant. This is the same man who launched his political career through disgusting birther remarks about President Obama. Over their time in public life, the Obama’s have been the embodiment of the best of us; Trump has shown he has no bottom.
I voted NO on the Senate-negotiated funding package. It includes billions more in funding but no basic guardrails. I’ve heard directly from my district that they are afraid, and this bill does nothing to address their real concerns. Nevadans deserve policies that strengthen safety, support economic stability, and use taxpayer dollars responsibly. This bill fails on all three.

I’m ok. I’m a survivor so this small agitator isn’t going to intimidate me from doing my work.
I don’t let bullies win.
Grateful to my incredible constituents who rallied behind me. Minnesota strong.
