@HistoryUnter@britishpoles I forgot to mention that the regiment had a brown bear called Voitec which went to war with them and drank vodka. He ended up in Edinburgh zoo when he was 'demobed' and died in 1961.
There's now a Statue/ Memorial in Princes Gardens, Edinburgh.
@HistoryUnter@britishpoles He was in the 2nd Carpathian regiment and they were the first up the mountain and unfurled the Polish Flag. He originally came from a village just east of Lwow and couldn't return home due to the Poles being stitched up by the allies.
If Southampton don't want our money for Shay Charles look elsewhere. I am sure the player himself will instigate the move if we show signs of withdrawing our offer ππ
We as a country really need to change all of our deportation and illegal immigration laws as these are so outdated now. We also need to adopt the same stance and policies as Poland which is the safest country in Europe.
Little Preston Davy's killers show that we definitely need to bring back some form of capital punishment as this sort of disgusting crime is happening too often.
This should also include any murder which is proven beyond doubt.
@britishpoles@FlightPolish My Father, Michael Slociak was in this regiment and told me the history regarding this bear and like many Poles couldn't return home as Poland let down by the allies and given over to Russia until they got their Freedom.
