The Billy Boys were one of the most famous street gangs in Glasgow's history.

Formed in the east end during the 1920s and led by Billy Fullerton, they became known for their fierce loyalty to King, country and Protestant identity. Based around Bridgeton, they were part of a rough, hard world of poverty, territorial rivalries and street violence that shaped much of interwar Glasgow.

Their name lives on through the might Rangers song Hello, Hello, We Are the Billy Boys. They were a street gang from a very different era, when neighbourhood loyalties, religion and local identity often ran deep.

Whether admired or criticised, they remain one of the most recognisable and talked-about groups in Scottish urban history.
