So if you’re going to make me wait, you’d better pay me for it. Every interest rate, every bond yield, every discount rate in every valuation model ever built is just a grown-up version of her question.
Double in the college fund.
I heard this in a lecture a while back on and it stuck with me.
A father had a test he ran on his kids around the age they started getting an allowance.
He’d ask: “Do you want your allowance today, or would you rather wait until Saturday to get it?”
That’s it. That’s the whole thing. That’s the time value of money, the single most basic question in all of finance, and a kid who isn’t tall enough for roller coasters just asked it cold.
Money today is worth more than money tomorrow.
In December 2024, sentiment was so bullish that Apollo published their risks in 2025 with a 0% chance of a US recession.
Meanwhile, they saw a 90% chance of tariffs coming in 2025.

Satisfying yourself will have the biggest impact.
Seems many corporate restaurant chains are either downsizing or closing. The economics of these places just doesn't add up any more. They also serve lousy food at inflated prices. The future of restaurants should be what it was decades ago: small, locally owned, reasonably priced places with low overhead.
If you start to see things from the right point of view, you realize everything is conspiring in your favor. A sort of reverse Murphys law.
Everything that can go right, will go right.
