Brief #aurora pillar in Western Mass during a CH substorm, which lasted about half an hour starting at 2248Z on 11/20/25 just as it was getting dark.
This was taken at 2257Z using a 10sec f/1.8 ISO 1600 exposure.

The full Sturgeon Moon rising behind the Veterans War Memorial tower on top of Mount Greylock - the highest point in Massachusetts.
Taken from five miles away in Williamstown, MA.
Very brief (less than 10 mins) #aurora substorm in Goshen, MA. Second one of the night with little activity in-between. Taken on 7/22/25 at 11:04PM EDT.
Very brief (less than 10 mins) and diffuse #aurora substorm at 10:25PM EDT, 7/12/25 in Goshen, MA. The moon rose about 24 mins before this but was not high enough yet to wash it out.

It was struggling to get through the smoke haze and the almost full moon.

@DHTheWeatherNut Dave, last night the aurora was amazing! Nothing faint about it at all. Hot off the press, found this beauty in the thousand photos I took. A fireball photo-bombed my shot at 1:57AM.
Beautiful #aurora pillars after the moon set. Captured at 1:25AM June 3 in Western Mass.
Of the 70+ auroras I've shot here, this is the first to have blue at the top of the pillars.
Very brief appearance of the aurora at 1:07AM EDT, June 2 in Western Mass. It lasted less than five minutes but was enough of a tease to keep me searching in vain the rest of the night.
