on oct 19, i placed my first bid on $mask @NullMaskio.
here's the thesis behind that decision.
earlier this year, i sold my spot portfolio at massive losses.
as I rebuild, i've decided to look for asymmetric bets across sectors i believe could capture value as the crypto industry evolves.
the sectors i'm focusing on are:
i) tokenization
ii) oracles
iii) ai
iv) quantum resistant tek
v) privacy
vi) memecoins with strong narratives
i've been researching projects within these sectors to identify potential entries.
for privacy, $mask caught my attention.
i) the privacy sector
according to glassnode data, the privacy sector grew ~213% from btc's oct 2025 peak, moving from a $7.1B to a $33.6B mcap.
the rally started with $ZEC leading the way.
to me, this shows that the market is willing to reprice privacy assets aggressively when attention shifts toward the sector.
but rather than chasing the coins that have already rallied, i started looking for opportunities that might still be overlooked.
that's where nullmask came in.
2. why nullmask?
look at how some privacy focused assets are valued.
meanwhile, nullmask is taking a different approach.
instead of requiring users to move to a separate privacy focused chain.
it's building privacy infra. around chains and wallets crypto natives already use.
base, bnb chain and rh chain, with solana already live today.
the interesting part?
these ecosystems already have users, liquidity and onchain activity.
if privacy becomes a bigger priority, a protocol that brings it to existing crypto workflows could have a distribution advantage over projects that require users to move to a new ecosystem.
ofc, having access to these users doesn't guarantee adoption.
but the "what if" is worth paying attention to.
3. the valuation
at the time of my bid, $MASK had a market cap of roughly $28m and an fdv of around $44m.
(current mc - $24m/$40.5m fdv)
now consider its early traction.
since launching in early oct nullmask has processed $70.7m in private volume, according to its dashboard.
it also recorded $5.5m in volume over the last 24hrs.
that's substantial activity relative to a ~$24m mcap.
vol isn't rev. and one day's activity doesn't prove sustained demand; which is true.
but for a protocol this young, it's a metric worth tracking.
4. the token economics
this is the part that made the thesis more interesting to me.
nullmask's core commitment is to use 100% of protocol fees for $MASK buybacks and burns.
it's dashboard also shows that 2.53% of the total token supply has been burnt.
if the protocol continues growing its fee generating activity, and those fees converts into consistent market buybacks and burns, the supply could shrink over time, assuming burns aren't offset by new emissions.
that's the mechanism i'm watching.
my thesis
the market has already shown that privacy can attract substantial liquidity.
nullmask is approaching the opportunity differently by bringing privacy to ecosystems that already have users, liquidity and activity.
At a ~$24m mcap, i think the combination of its distribution opportunity, early usage and fee to buyback and burn mechanism makes $MASK worth paying attention to.
if adoption and fee generation continue to grow, the market could eventually value it differently.
that's the asymmetric opportunity i'm betting on.
now, I'll be watching the numbers to see whether the thesis plays out.
NFA!

the other day, i went down a little rabbit hole on prediction markets, and that’s how i came across Wahoo Predict (@Wahoopredict ).
you know how sometimes you have a feeling about how something will turn out? imagine having a platform where you can put those predictions to the test.
that’s basically what Wahoo Predict is building around.
from crypto price movements to sports, news, and real world events, Wahoo lets users predict outcomes and place bets based on what they think will happen.
what caught my attention is the range of things you can predict, it’s not just about crypto; it stretches into different parts of everyday life.
i’m still looking into the project, especially its long-term plans, team, and whether there’s any confirmed token or rewards programme. i haven’t found enough verified information to call an airdrop confirmed, so i’m keeping an open mind.
for now, i think it’s worth understanding what they’re building before jumping to conclusions.
sometimes, the interesting part of discovering a project isn’t just what it offers today, but what you learn while paying attention.
