This was a really disappointing testimony from the CATO institute.

The argument follows circuitous logic that starts at the end. Legal immigration being difficult has never been the issue. The issue is that the Left made legal immigration pointless, costly and time-consuming when anyone is allowed to just cross the border and say "Home Free".

Follow Left-Wing logic of abolishing borders and law enforcement, then you would inevitably abolish Citizenship itself.

Why even make immigrants come to the U.S. at all? Why not just send our money directly to them in foreign countries?
