@myrrcy @DANTE732126974 Cloud himself takes blame for being controlled by the way. This is a core part of the OG. Him recognizing that his own insecurities and weakness are what turned him into a puppet.

Part of Cloud's growth is recognizing the internal factors that made him easy to control.
