@noaheverett I used to run ZFS on a really low spec hardware (Intel Atom, FreeNAS). The major bottleneck there was Samba server that I just couldn't configure to work fast. Locally file transfers were some 5-10x faster.

Becoming a console developer is easier these days. Nintendo is encouraging companies to join their developer program. After registering sign their NDA and you should just be able to purchase their developer hardware and download custom Unity middleware.
