@Joseph_Neston@stevehill1mil Don't worry, she won't be gaming xD
Probably just use the internet. Laptop at that price point is more than enough for that.
@dannytommyX Have done many things on the side, but the very first client I had was at 14 years old, when I was reselling items on a MMORPG game called Maple Story.
I earned quite good money reselling in-game and then I sold the game currency for real money to kids in school.
Instead of "build the business", take steps like:
- talk to 3 people
- write one offer draft
- test one angle
- publish one useful idea
Small precise actions create strong outcomes.
Vague ideas will keep you running circles.
Which step should you take next?
@romiowrote@simonsquibb Because good advice often times requires letting go of short term pleasure and changing behavior for a long term.
People rather be "happy" today and suffer tomorrow.
@BBH_ismail@simonsquibb Fair point. Sometimes the person, that gives the advice, was not able/willing to follow it himself.
A lot of good advice requires letting go of short term pleasure. Most people live in it.
@misfitwriter_ Yeah, talk is cheap.
The hard part is not coming up with a killer idea.
The hard part is becoming a changed person, who is consistent and willing to eat glass for years. Overcoming paralyzing doubt and working every single day in the shadows.
This is why most fail.
1 week ago I started my business.
But before starting, I already understood my market.
For 14 years, I always have asked this question when meeting someone new: "What are your hobbies?".
I sincerely cared.
These conversations always led to very interesting conversations and I would learn a lot about them.
When the topic went to business and fulfillment, most of them had the same desire.
Their biggest desire was not even money, but freedom and pursuing something meaningful in life. Having time for what really mattered.
As much as money was concerned, they just didn't want to worry about it.
Most desired 2 - 3x their current salary. Nothing more.
If you feel the same way, then a one-person business might be a good option.
How about you? Are you pursuing already your dreams or would you like to?
What is your desired amount of money?
A weak offer is like running a marathon with weights.
branding,
marketing,
pricing,
sales
etc
everything will feel hard.
Test your offer first with real people.
While testing, see where the problems in the offer occur and solve them.
Are you happy with your current offer?
@EmailCopyJames But a big business has to give also disproportionate time, money and freedom back also at one point.
Sell company for 50 million for example or give leadership to someone else at one point.
Business should not consume the life it was supposed to improve.
If your plan requires:
- constant stress,
- endless content,
- a personality you canβt maintain,
the model is already leaking.
@EmailCopyJames This is what solopreneurship is about. Help people while having time for other things also.
Big business building can be quite intensive for a long period of time
I agree with pope Leo. We have to protect the human integrity.
Humans need humans. Work is important for our soul. Just because we can replace humans with technology, should we?
I think it should have it's place. To save and improve lives.
But to answer the question, yes I liked the time before.
