🚨 ✈️ BREAKING: Anthony Gordon will travel to Barcelona to undergo a medical tomorrow!
💵 🤝 Newcastle have tonight agreed a deal with the Catalan club that nets #NUFC £69.3m (€80m) for the England international.
The worst part is that he’s “planning for the future with the players that will be here next season” … I’ve never been more relieved to not have to watch NUFC for a few months in my life.
"Sliding doors moment," what ungrateful bollocks. 19th when EH took over & all but buried. Survival, 2 CL qual, 2 cup finals & a trophy before UE got Villa into his first final. Bash Howe all you want for recent shortfall, but don't dare discredit historical achievement. #NUFC
@ScottyTalksToon I’m not sure you’ve my point. I’m sure you weren’t serious in suggesting fans kit themselves out with cone hats. It’s the fact that lots of the fanbase (and here I’d argue perhaps yourself included) forgive his shortcomings as a player because of for his meme-based persona.
Baffles me that people buy into this bollocks.
He’s dropped stinker after stinker - even being at fault for multiple goals recently.
Dunno how anyone can consider giving him an armband when his most memorable moment this season is literally being a cone head.
@Magpie24_7 Your maths is wrong on this.
The profit sell-on clause refers to the difference between the price paid to Everton and what we sell him for.
So if we sell to Bayern for £60m but we paid £40m to Everton then £20m is roughly the profit so they’d be due £3m from us in profit %
🤔 I get the argument that the #nufc players are letting Eddie Howe down (some clearly are) but there can't be many Premier League managers who had as much influence over players who came in as he did last summer.
Aaron Ramsdale a good example of a strategy that has been found wanting. Went with 'what we know' / PL experience rather than being prepared to take a chance on better with less experience. It hasn't worked. It's going to change, from what I'm hearing.
#nufc are in a really tough spot. Howe has done a wonderful job but this season has been really poor & the last few weeks have been totally unacceptable. I'm glad he has the fire but #nufc now being out-fought & out-thought by mid-table rivals & that worries me. Yesterday's result was all-too-predictable.
Whatever Newcastle are going to do (stay/go), it would be useful for them to make that decision well before end of season & communicate it clearly. Uncertainty over manager / player futures is hugely corrosive & with seemingly nothing to play for drift could become toxic.
Where’s the fight and desire? This team are absolutely bereft of ideas.
Psychologically, we’re defeated before we even cross the line. Nothing changes week on week - tactically dreadful and half arsed everywhere.
You don’t come out and say you only want committed players in your starting 11 and then drop your golden boy without a single hint of an injury prior to your team sheet going out.
Something is going on behind the scenes and it’s looking more and more like a mess.
Jacob Murphy has dropped one of the worst performances, even by his standards, I’ve seen in ages and he’s lasted 90 mins with the armband. Personifies the problem. Palace were asleep for 75 mins and not a punch laid. Seasons dead, and it’s hard to see how this continues #NUFC
The magnitude of influence he brought ranks him as one of the most important signings the clubs ever made. One of the best footballers I’ve seen in the shirt on a consistent basis. Incredible player, incredible leader. Feels like this symbolises the end of an era unfolding #NUFC
🚨⚪️⚫️ Newcastle have agreed deal in principle to sign Independiente del Valle winger Johan Martinez, here we go!
Ecuadorian 2009 born talent will join as soon as he turns 18, after verbal agreement in place. 🇪🇨
