๐จ BREAKING: Granit Xhaka has TURNED DOWN a move to Chelsea to remain at Sunderland.
๐จ๐ญ The Swiss & Sunderland captain has reaffirmed of desire to remain with #SAFC and lead them into Europe.
โ Sunderland always said he was unavailable for transfer despite Chelseaโs move and his relationship with Xabi Alonso.
๐๐ฝ The 33-year-oldโs relationship with the Sunderland fans played a big part in his decision.
@TCrews9831892@dazzabell01@Stevenparker78@talkSPORT@gabby_10 Nope, I just think the rules are unfair for all but a few clubs, and want the rules to change. For us, Villa, Bournemouth etc. Your comment about buying success we haven't earned is crazy ๐คฃ
@TCrews9831892@Stevenparker78@talkSPORT@gabby_10 Operating in debt is ok, because the owners put the club in debt, but clubs buying players using money injected club by owners isn't ok because it's unfair? YE June 25 Man Utd made a loss last season, didn't they? And Newcastle made a profit?
@TCrews9831892@Stevenparker78@talkSPORT@gabby_10 It's how business works. You invest to support growth, then reap the rewards of increased revenue. In football, owners can't invest in recruitment, they need to invest in other areas to grow revenue which in the meantime sees their squads picked apart by the balance sheet elite
@TCrews9831892@Stevenparker78@talkSPORT@gabby_10 Owners should be allowed to invest in player recruitment, as it ultimately grows revenue. Clubs that have rich owners willing to invest without risking the financial future if the club, should be allowed to invest.
@forestforever11@NostalgicNUFC "Arguably at the time". It's open to debate, but many would agree that at their peak, Bruno, Tonali and Joelinton were the best midfield in the league.
@AdamP1242 No, because this represents a great deal for us, and I'm certain that the club will be pushing for this as hard as Spurs and Tonali. 100m is crazy and we cannot reject it at this stage.
@forestforever11@NostalgicNUFC He was behind what was argueably the best midfield 3 in the league at the time. Him not playing was understandable. But selling him was, and remains utterly ridiculous. And no one that I know was happy, or not fussed to see him leave.
@forestforever11@NostalgicNUFC Hmm, not sure I agree - many fans were pissed to see him leave. He'd shown glimpses of the class player he'd become, and in my opinion was already better than Joelinton. Howe's stubbornness, and desperation saw Anderson sold in my opinion. We should have sold Gordon then.
@NUFCThreatLevel He isn't shite, but he was garbage at times last season, and his attitude is dire at times. ยฃ100m for him is the opposite of a setback if we replace him well.
@GetAHurrCutMan_ The optics don't matter.
Tonali and Gordon were both dire last season, and we need to invest in the squad.
To invest, player sales are key and we always knew that.
We now need to watch, and see how we reinvest before judging. Hopefully in a more strategic way than last summer
People will say the selling of Gordon and Tonali are signs it's all falling apart at #nufc, but both deals represent incredible value for the club. Great business.
๐จ EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham Hotspur reach agreement with Newcastle United to sign Sandro Tonali. Deal for 26yo Italy international to join #THFC from #NUFC ยฃ92.5m + ยฃ7.5m in potential add-ons based around multiple Champions League qualifications @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/dWEZtjFzFK
@BenMaguireMP Discuss the dangerous ways Athena Learning trust are mis-handling the education of Cornish children, Ben. They're causing, and exacerbating mental health issues amongst our teens, and it'll only get worse. It's a disgrace that it's been allowed to continue seemingly unchecked.
@iangregory70@Im_RobM The problems are all due to him. Say what you will about PIF but they've pumped near a billion quid into the club. My only gripe with them is they kept Howe on far too long
