- AI is the process of creating something. Eg: Text, videos, images, conversations, etc.

- Deep Fakes are videos of people doing or saying something they didn't say. Usually by replacing the head or face though in some cases more.

@jamiedoesthings You can use generative AI to create a deep fake. However in the past Deep Fakes used machine learning of thousands of videos and images to train an application to produce a deep fake video.

AI these days is just a marketing term.
