27 - Florian Wirtz has so far been directly involved in 27 competitive goals in club football in 2023 (10 goals, 17 assists), which only @Guirassy_19 (28) tops among all Bundesliga players. Jewel.
He’s been seriously efficient, too. 10 goals from 21 shots; finishes with his left, right, and head; both inside and outside the box; off the dribble, dinks over the keeper, first-time strikes. This is a center forward playing with supreme confidence.
VfB Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy is the first player in Europe’s top five leagues to score double digit goals this season. Doubt many people expected that.

Brighton’s current quartet of wingers includes a homegrown signed as a 17-year-old in 2013, a €3m transfer from the J1 League, a 21-year-old Ivorian bought from the Danish first tier, and a loan player from FC Barcelona. Now that’s variety.
@YankeeGunner@clivepafc He’s a pretty great replacement for the role Mac Allister played in for most of last season. They now have a few options all comfortable in any of those forward roles (Kudus, Enciso, João Pedro), plus two great CFs and some fun wingers
And speaking of their front four, we’re excited to see how De Zerbi uses the different options he has at his disposal this season: Pedro, Ferguson, Welbeck, Enciso, Mitoma, March, Buonanotte, and Adingra… just to name a few.
If early pre-season signs are anything to go by, João Pedro looks to be a hit in a Brighton kit. Loads of clever first touches to escape his marker, often with his back to goal, before using his long strides to attack space on the turn. An exciting start for the 21-year-old.
Brighton escaped Brentford’s high press by firing passes into Pedro from deep, and he won a lot of battles vs big center backs before combining with teammates. He looks a natural in that center forward role, but you can really see him fitting anywhere across their front four.
25-year-old Ismaïla Sarr joins Marseille after four seasons at Watford, split evenly between the Premier League and Championship. Another crack at top flight football, with possible Champions League involvement too — that’s a fun move.
Victor Boniface: Union SG —> Bayer Leverkusen (€20m)
Nigerian center forward Victor Boniface heads to the Bundesliga after a strong first (and only) season in the Belgian top flight, where the 22-year-old scored 15 goals across domestic and Europa League competition.
