@mancity_talk Stinky indeed. I don’t see how things go back to normal after this. This feels like your owners are hitting the kill switch in desperation and there’s no going back. Geopolitical blackmail isn’t the card you play when you supposedly sit on a pile of irrefutable evidence.
Etihad to the US Government in 2015: “The assertion that the Abu Dhabi government paid for Etihad’s sponsorship of Manchester City is equally false.”
Man City’s 2026 appeal: “Well… about that.”
😂 Incredible.
@mancity_talk The same almost certainly happens at PSG. Problem is, they are so fundamental to the relevance and financial pillar of Ligue 1, the league would never dare dig to discover the same truth
@mancity_talk PR! Owning Man City, whether you like it or not, is all about good PR to them. It’s never been about anything else. The state (indirectly the owners) funnel money into the club to push good PR, which goes a long way for building relations with other nations and governments
@mancity_talk Etihad is just a vehicle for them to move the money through, that is all. Their sponsors are all interlinked with the state of Abu Dhabi and make funnelling money convenient. If it wasn’t for emails getting leaked, this would likely never have surfaced
@City_Chief@slbsn Gone from “nothing to hide”, to “yea well, it’s not the owners topping up the sponsor money, it was actually the state of Abu Dhabi” 😂
