Oil prices hit a 3-year high, natural gas demand far outstripping supply as northern hemisphere approaches winter - any surprise that China renews crack-down on BTC mining as they face an energy crisis? The world needs a more energy efficient crypto. #ProofOfStake#Cardano
@Sam52608971 @benohanlon@IOHK_Charles We have an upcoming change in the rewards formula (a0 pledge benefit) that will move in this direction: making the impact of pledge proportional to the size of the pool, rather than the *maximum* size of a pool.
@bigpey K is not changing in the short term; it will not happen until after the pledge benefit (a0) change goes live. Early Q3 is the guidance I have right now for that, given the other work in the pipeline.
@WiseCapital3 I think https://t.co/3XA4023VHw has updated versions of those. I find their stuff to be quite reliable as well; if you see a big difference there I would like to know!
@RealSaidov@jdorman81@IOHK_Charles That's a longer discussion than a tweet. Marginal utility is probably a better framework than DCF for valuation though, so asking the wrong question. People over focus on price; 100% more thrilled about the price stability vs market downside this month.
Just found these guys; how did I not know about them before?

@RealSaidov@shawn_mcmurdo@LarsBrunjes@IOHK_Charles I am not a game theory guy though - I look at stuff like discounted cashflows, operating at a loss to attract delegation and arbitrage! The Nash Equilibrium game theory crowd may have different ideas!
@RealSaidov@shawn_mcmurdo@LarsBrunjes@IOHK_Charles The key elements in all "good" a0 solutions for me: ensure that splitting pledge equally between pools is always the worst outcome, have the impact large enough to be meaningful, be able to tweak the level safely.
@5050isaloss @marshosaurus This is what I see: a couple different options and one of them is "metadata". (But I agree, this is a huge problem for crypto - the answer to "how to you achieve financial inclusion?" is not "start by downloading a full node wallet", we really need to lower the bar.)
@cool_stake@rickmccracken Tangential to your point: the @shawn_mcmurdo CIP focuses on making smaller levels of pledge more meaningful, but because it is smaller pledge levels, it has a much reduced impact on how quickly the reserve gets drawn down.
@awildthingy @rickmccracken a0 represents additional rewards given to pools with a higher amount of pledge. It decides whether it is more efficient to split pledge across multiple pools (for extra delegation) or to concentrate it in a single pool for enhanced rewards.
