@Lilywhite_Rose Last few days we're linked with the Atlanta right back/wing back. Seemingly decent crosser and fee quoted as under 20m euros, so a Djed sale may have legs ? I'd imagine he'd want more game time, which he won't get imo so maybe a transfer is best for all ? Around £35m I'd reckon.
@JimOhSoSpurs Won't be any regrets Jim. Even if he reaches the heights some people think he's going to, he will be what? 5% better than JPVH and Micky ? Add in how promising Byfield is & the fact Luka wants to leave & I won't miss him at all....plus I still say he looks too slow to me !
@Lilywhite_Rose@David_Ornstein Selling the 'correct' youngster. Gray and Bergvail are Spurs, this lad never felt like he was. Won't be missed imo, not with the backline we have now and Byfield in the wings.
@JimOhSoSpurs On the other hand United desperately want Fernandes, for multiple reasons (& from a PR point of view losing your main transfer target to Spurs is one of them) so it's a bit more competitive for his signature....but Spurs still firm favourites due to the willingness to pay the fee
@JimOhSoSpurs With due respect Jim, there actually isn't strong interest in Tonali is there, it's all very vague if's,buts and maybes. Neither City or Arsenal have a desperate need (or guaranteed starting spot) for Tonali & that makes it incredibly unlikely either will fork out £100m for him
@ShadowJourno West Ham end of financial year May 31st, Spurs June 30th. Seems to me that the verbal agreement rumour and then the silence can easily be explained by that fact , it's actually Spurs holding up any conclusion so the huge fee goes into next years PSR/SCR ?......
@JimOhSoSpurs Good stuff Jim - I like how @pokeefe1 framed it , when he said something like 'if we weren't Spurs fans & our club was looking to bring in Tonali, Fernandes & Bergvail, you'd absolutely want the first two players ahead of signing Bergvail'. That's it in a nutshell for me.
@Lilywhite_Rose@David_Ornstein Weird timing. Literally played a WC game less than 24 hours ago, pretty sure he didn't finishing showering afterwards & decide to leave Spurs ! Not doubting the news btw, just the timing of it. I really like him, thihe'll be great......but so would Fernandes, Tonali, Wharton ....
@Lilywhite_Rose Either a flat £65m now or £40m + 50% sell on, + guaranteed £100m release clause in his Brighton contract/s. We then get £70m if he becomes the player we think he can be or we can effectively buy him back for £70m if he becomes the player we think he can be.
@Lilywhite_Rose According to Brighton, Tonali valued only slightly higher than Van Hecke, and as good as Van Hecke is, I know which one would have a greater impact on our team , and which transfer would get the fans and media most excited.
@LilywhiteLab I watched an 8 min 'welcome to Brighton Vuskovic' video the other day & honestly, he looked nowhere near ready for the PL. Too big, cumbersome & quite slow tbh. Good at winner headers & sliding tackles. Very small sample size & might be v.unfair but Van Hecke for me all day long.
@SpursDaily_@pokeefe1 Surely the question shouldn't be about keeping Vuskovic, it should be about keeping Romero , who is the player that'd be making way for Van Hecke ? Vuskovic future a completely different discussion imo
@OhSoSpurs Feeling calm. He's our player on a very long contract, so we can't be bullied. However i do accept he's a human being & his career path is important. Too many people talking as if he's an indispensable superstar, but as of now he isn't. PL is tough. We have to trust De Zerbi.
@JimOhSoSpurs Yes, & it didn't help the way Ornstein worded it. The £30m was Brighton's offer, not the price we accepted ! Also, if it did happen, there'd be a big sell on clause attached. It's far more important to have De Zerbi than to have Vuskovic, we have to trust and back the manager
