From talk shows and crime dramas to toe-tapping musicals, here is some of the film and TV across Netflix - and friends at @NITV, @SBS and @ABCTV - that celebrates Indigenous cultures.

The result is a film where rom-com tropes are leveraged to heartfelt (and often hilarious) effect. Seeing other rom-coms, like #TheBigSick, inspired Tapsell, she told @SatPaper. "It did give me permission to trust what I was saying." https://t.co/Xsm5Wzuh2E
Writing the film, Tapsell stayed true to her own history. "How do I speak honestly and authentically about Lauren and where she's grown up and the way she’s understood the world?" she asked.
Tapsell, a Larrakia woman, grew up in Darwin — as did her character Lauren, a successful lawyer whose doting boyfriend has just proposed to her. But when she discovers her mother has gone missing, she embarks on a journey that takes her back to country in Tiwi.
#TopEndWedding is a rom-com as much about romance as it is about love of family, country, and heritage. And for co-writer, executive producer, and star Miranda Tapsell (@missmirandatap), it was personal.
Ecstatic to have #TopEndWedding on @hulu! If you’re in North America and haven’t seen it yet, treat yourself. @Gwilymlee is much nicer in this than he is in @TheGreatHulu.
